  Headlight volts drop
Posted by: Mustang - 09-10-18, 09:18 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (5)

i notice when I switch my lights on sometimes the clocks go off then come back on, also if I pull the pass light switch in. I did a test with the lights disconnected and that stopped the clocks going out. I’ve checked the battery voltage and it drops quite a bit when the lights go on, I guess it’s enough to cut the clocks out. Has anyone altered their lights to fire them off a relay? Would it make any difference? Gen 1 2001

  Re-covering security chain
Posted by: Dudeofrude - 09-10-18, 10:01 AM - Forum: General - Replies (18)

As per title I'm looking at 'resleeving' my squire chain. Ive found a few material sleeves from Opus but nothing long enough ?
Cant seem to find any other material ones so I'm trying to find out where I could pick up some of the plastic sleeving? The blue stuff that cheaper chains come with, does anyone have any idea what it's called or where to get it?

84 year old bloke gets a phone call from the inland revenue"we've noticed you've been spending a lot of money lately and we'd like you to come in 9'oclock Monday to explain where it's come from" better get myself a solicitor to come with me he thinks,so Monday morning he arrives and a right smart arsed tax inspector's there,"now then where's all this money come from?" well,I like to have a bit of a gamble now and then and do alright,he says,"are you telling me you've been spending all this money gambling?I don't think so" well he says I bet you a grand I can bite my eyeball!"don't be stupid! ok then I'll have a bit of that, you're on" so the bloke takes his false eye out and bites it,"bloody hell I didn't expect that!"I tell you what I'll give you a chance to get your money back,I bet you 2grand I can bite the other one,the taxman thinks well I didn't see no guide dog and he hasn't got a stick,so he must be able to see! "ok, I'll bet you the 2grand" the bloke takes out his false teeth and bites his other eye "I don't believe it" says the taxman, tell you what I'll give you chance to get your money back and more, you see that litter bin over there? well I bet you 5grand I can piss into it from here and not get a drop anywhere but in the bin,"no chance, that's impossible I'll definitely take your bet" the bloke gets his pecker out and pisses all over the office, over the floor, the desk, everywhere."ha,ha,ha,told you you waster" yes,you were right to take the bet,but on the way over here I bet my solicitor 10 grand that I'd come in here and piss all over the office.

  immobilizer woes
Posted by: Mr Juju - 08-10-18, 10:42 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

Hello good people,I rode my Fazer home from work, popped into a shop and when I tried to start it again it refused to play ball.No spark at plugs and immobilizer used to beep but stopped some time ago although bike was still starting ok.Was getting a build up of green corrosion (like when batteries are left in something). Can I bypass the immobilizer or get another unit for the tail piece. Is it a standard fitmit or does anyone know what make it is?links to pics below. Many thanks for your time and attention.
Sorry about earlier links this should work.

  Adjustable rider foot pegs
Posted by: John_FJ - 08-10-18, 07:52 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (4)

Has anyone fitted adjustable rider foot pegs? having long legs I find the ride slightly cramped, I thought if I could lower the pegs slightly it may help. I was wondering if there was any problems altering the brake and gear selectors?Cheers John

  Recommending Russ's Tyres in Portsmouth!
Posted by: Robbie8666 - 08-10-18, 02:26 PM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

if anyone near PO postcode looking for new tyres I can recommend Russ.

rang him Thursday for new tyres, took his suggestion of Avon's (for my Triumph NightStorm)
he sent me a text Friday midday letting me know they had arrived, and hour & half later I was back on the road (after he had sorted an issue with brakes which couldn't have been spotted without taking the rear wheel out!
Full set of Avons fitted for £236 all in, which about price for a rear other brand
(Protyres were asking £55+vat for fitting as its a cruiser!)

he only fits bike tyres and whilst I was there he had a constant stream of punters with all makes & kinds of bike!

only downside is there isn't a coffee machine  :lol (however there is a Maccy D's just down road)
