Talk about a slapped wrist! after what can only be described as one of the most dangerous stunts in modern day racing which could easily have caused a major injury if not worse, this twat gets off with a couple of races ban! O.K. you don't want to see a great young talent banned for life but where's the deterrent in the future? this will always be used as a precedent for anyone trying to get away with a risky manoeuvre !Defo ban for a season IMO. :thumbdown

  Paint repair fuel tank
Posted by: MikeBike - 12-03-19, 04:54 PM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

Hello guys. I have a FZS 600 1999 in colour red.
As you can see on the pictures, I have some marks of scratches (this case more like tiny holes) in the tank.
Do you know if the dealer sells, or is there any product on sale, like a small can of paint, so that I can give it a little touch?
Any suggestions on products (paint repair) or actual paint for this specific colour?
Thank you
Mike

Have we got any painters on here (automotive)
Posted by: 74eldiablo - 12-03-19, 01:25 PM - Forum: General - Replies (10)

Just need a bit of advice from someone who is in the painting game and has dealt with satin matt paint finishes.

So i plan to respray my silver fzs600 in satin metallic blue, i had a zx10r which had a satin grey/gold paintjob and it looked sweet, and need to give the old foccer a new look, after selling the old damaged bikini fairing.
I have bought and a different bikini fairing and a new bellypan to refresh the look it.

So my questions are these.

Is metallic (blue) available in a satin matt finish?
Is it more difficult to paint with rather than a usual shiny metallic paint?
Do i need to get the painter to go over the base coat with a matt clear coat as well?

Can i use nano on the finished paint?
Any helpful advise would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Whilst being in a rush to strip down my forks to paint and fit new seals and 15w oil i had made a basic schoolboy error that i'm pretty ashamed of, i didnt remember which way the springs came out
when refitting the springs do the closer coils go to the top??
I havent filled them with oil as of yet until i get the headsup  :oops ah the shame

  Neutral light "problem fixed"
Posted by: M4RTIN - 11-03-19, 09:42 AM - Forum: FZ6 / FZ6 Fazer - Replies (7)

Ok, I have not long ago rebuilt the wife Fazer 6. Now i did not know it was a fault until i did some reading online.
The problem is when the bike is in gear and the clutch is pulled in, the neutral light comes on.
Now i have replaced the clutch lever switch, side stand switch and tried another second hand relay.
So even after doing this the neutral light still comes on when the clutch lever is pulled.
The bike has not got wet and has not been on the road yet.
Any help please would be great as sorting this problem out will keep the wife happy.
