  FZS 1000 2001 clutch problem
Posted by: darren4993 - 27-02-19, 12:43 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (21)

Hi everyone just got myself a Fazer 1000 2001 with 35000 on the clock. I got it from bikes 4 all in Mulvern but when ever I'm in traffic the clutch fades to the point where it will stall and I will have to full adjust it to get any clutch. The bike is back with Bikes 4 all and they have put a new cable on it plus new clutch and its still happening was hopping that someone might have an idea what the problem is.

Thanks in advance Darren

Losing my mind! (replacing the throttle cable)
Posted by: Spiffle - 27-02-19, 10:14 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

Hey Foccers!

Recently snapped my pull-cable, got a new set from WeMoto delivered but I can't for the life of me seem to get the old cables off the carbs and new ones on.

Have removed everything but the battery and airbox, was hoping to be able to wiggle them in without removing half the bike (limited tools and street parking).

Have looked for youtube vids with no luck, searched here with the same luck.

Anyone have any links or tips it would be much appreciated as I'm about to just light the bike on fire and get a new one out of pure rage.

fork brake hose "M" bolt size
Posted by: 74eldiablo - 26-02-19, 08:30 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

Can any of you nice foccers help me out, whats the M size of the bolt that holds the brake hose on the forks and the swing arm please?
I bought all new wezmoto racelines braided brake hoses  F & R and new ebc sintered pads, cleaned up the caliper pistons and smeared them in red porno grease.I am going to paint the old silver pitted forks gold, swap the seals for new and change the oil for 15w i thought that its best if i buy some nice new shiny "P" clips for the race lines to finish it off.
now im not daft but is a hex head of 10mm a M8 or an M10??i would assume that the 10mm hex head is at least 2mm bigger (maybe more than the thread)  making it a M8 thread
is my way of thinking correct or totally wrong.
will get some pictures up soon of the foccing transformation, i'm not spending 100's of thousands on a 18 year old bike but it needs a bit of a change.
hope you can help me out quickly as my parcel with all my bit is coming to lithuania on feb 13th and i need to get the rest of the goodies ordered quick
adios amigos

  Lowered font suspension
Posted by: Mike1962 - 26-02-19, 08:02 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

I've just noticed my forks have been lowered by about 10mm through the yokes.  Is this a common thing and what does it rectify/add to the handling of the bike?

It's a 2002 box eye version.  I think everything else is stock.......... But then you might know better.  I've only had it 1 week so I'm just getting to have a better look at things.

I'm not a racer, I ride fairly sensibly. Do I Leave it or do I put it back to stock settings?  Whichever decision, why?

My thoughts are that I'm sure Yamaha with all of its computers and tech wizards must have designed it with that geometry for a reason so why alter it?

  Drive shaft oil seal replacement
Posted by: stonedpillock - 26-02-19, 07:00 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (5)

Hi guys
Not been on for a while so ?

My gen 1 1000 has just started to leak from behind the front sprocket. I'm assuming it's the drive shaft oil seal. How much of a job is it? Haven't looked into it too much yet, thought I would seek the advise of one of you foccers!

I'm thinking it could ?be an engine out job to get access. Hope I'm wrong. Will be talking to my friendly mechanic tomorrow or may have a go myself.

Today 26th Feb 19 - I spoke to Lee who said the more orders the better and could maybe get a full set together for £100The usual colours are availableBlueRedBlackWhiteGreen

  Help needed form wise Foccers
Posted by: tommyardin - 25-02-19, 11:55 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

Hi chaps,
I have just fitted a new Lifan 125cc engine in my little Honda C90-G Cub, the engine is a direct replacement and all the engine mounting bolts line up.

There is one adjustment that is needed and that is the foot rest assembly that bolts on the bottom of the engine needs to be widened by 1.75 inches to accommodate the slightly wider engine at that point. (Cut, insert and weld new 45mm piece of 18mm round bar)
The front sprocket all seems to be inline, so that should be OK.

On the legal side what should the process be as far as informing DVLA and my insurance company?
The Honda is due a MOT in a week or so, should the MOT be done before informing DVLA or the other way around?

Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks.
tommy
