I always try to support the local traders as much as I can, even if its a few shillings more, you can typically walk out of the shop with the goods in your hand rather than wait 3 days for it to be delivered either when your'e not in, or to another completely random address. Some years ago now, I converted the clutch on the fazer to hydraulic to save my old arthritic hands from avoidable punishment. After much searching, the cheapest UK supplier for the newly purchased Striple was almost £500 (I paid approx £250 for the fazer conversion). I spread the search to Europe and picked up the same kit today for £280, vat paid and free delivery. Ive been looking for new helmets too, and the same scenario appears, massive mark ups for UK purchased ones. I have a feeling we are being rinsed here.

Afternoon
So As Im looking at all the options when it comes to the forks on my FZ1, Gnasher reminded me that I could pontenially fit R1 forks on there.
So my question is, has any one done this? if so what model/year of R1 did they come off of? and were you able to use all the FZ1 running gear..? (mudguard, wheel, calipers, spacers, spindle etc.

So ive been having a look around online at fork refurb services, rechroming services, and before going to that route I thought I was ask on here if anyone has a set of forks in good contion that they want to sell.
Basically mine need new springs, new stanchions and news seals/bushes and all the refurbishing services I can find are getting of for being expensive. Even replacing just the parts myself isnt cheap. So hence looking for a good used set instead.

Hi All. I have the "tube" type grab rail on my gen1 and was wondering if the alloy/colour coded grabrails seen on the later gen 1s will fit straight on?
Thanks in advance

So is me just being an old git? or does anyone else find the announcement/on-hold audio you get when you call most bike shops and dealers these days annoying and cringe worthy. Its like a DJ moonlighting as a cheap salesman, being over-exuberant, where 'Every Other Word Is Elevated In Pitch'. Which to me at least its disingenuous and fake, which is where the annoyance comes from. I'm calling a bike shop not a bloody radio station.

Bought a new Foxeye in 2003 and had it for 6 years. Bought a Tiger 1050 then a MT-09 Tracer (which I couldn’t get along with). Bought a BMW R1200RT which I still have. Yearned for another Fazer so bought a 2001 Boxeye and loving it.

I tightened my very loose head bearings
The castle nuts - bearing head and locknut with special washer don’t tighten down together tight
I guess it is the fork nuts and the yoke nut that keeps it all together?
