LED Side light Bulbs
Posted by: old son - 30-03-19, 08:22 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - No Replies

I want to change my side light bulbs to LED. I think they are 501? I've seen some for sale but they are non canbus and might need a resistor to stop flickering?

Can anybody direct me to a web site with the correct bulbs that don't flicker and are not an arm and a leg!!

Thanks

  Paint Pains
Posted by: Bertie78 - 29-03-19, 08:51 PM - Forum: FZ6 / FZ6 Fazer - Replies (2)

Hi all - being the proud new owner of an FZ6, i also have all the pains as well as the delights. My current stumbling block is i can't seem to get the paint code right. Having checked the white label, i get "4S8B-050, C". After a lot of Googling, i managed to come up with the paint code BMC (775) - Metallic Blue C. I could only seem to get this from RS Paints, but they have it listed as Power Blue Candy. Having applied some to the scratched area, I'm not convinced it's a match. I've tried searching on Reg, VIN, and I'm seriously running out of ideas. I've attached a photo in the vain hope i get a "oh that's [this] colour" response.

TIA

  Security Chains?
Posted by: Bally- - 29-03-19, 12:47 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

Had my 600 nicked the other day, wasn't locked. Yes, I know.

Going to buy a replacement 02 or 03 model - just wondered if anyone uses 16mm or bigger chains? Do they fit through the bike (and where?) or just the back wheel?. Is 1.5m long enough to get to a ground anchor?

Thanks

  Stolen Fazer 600
Posted by: Bally- - 28-03-19, 01:45 PM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

Had my bike nicked from outside work yesterday, right in the centre of Bradford (outside Subway and across the road from City Hall if you know the city). Came out for lunch and it was gone.

Silver FZS 600 with top box, Renthal bars, oxford hot grips, engine bars, rubbery knee grip thingies... reg is YK03AGY. If anyone sees it can you let me/the cops know please.

I assume I won't see it again so waiting for the insurance to fund my next bike - which will be another late model Foxeye :-)

  2004 FZ6 engine paint
Posted by: fazermike - 28-03-19, 12:09 AM - Forum: FZ6 / FZ6 Fazer - Replies (3)

Hi Guys,
I'm thinking of repainting my 2004 FZ6 engine as the silver paint is flaking off.

I found a thread on this forum about someone painting a Gen 1 Fazer 1000 engine and was wondering if it's the same silver finish as my bike?

Here is the link to Amazon where he bought it.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Simoniz-Very-Te...op?ie=UTF8

Also i have been thinking about repainting the silver sub frame as it's a bit rusty but not sure what paint to use?

Silver hammerite??

Thanks  Smile

  Newly upholstered seat has arrived.
Posted by: redmandan - 27-03-19, 09:23 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

Sent the seat off to Poland a couple of weeks ago for a re-upholstery with Wijalis and got it back yesterday.

Piccies (imgur)

I quite like the standard look of the box eye fazer, has something of a retro feel, but I do want mine to be somewhat personal. After much deliberation I went for blue piping to match my new blue brake lines (rear one just waiting to be installed).

Costs:
£125 in the eBay shop for the reupholster, including return postage.
€23/£19.5 to send to Poland.
I contemplated having the gel cushion added but it was an extra £45 and I didn’t think it was worth it. The seat feels nice and firm as well as much grippier on the turns. I think it is a touch wider and higher as well which is probably a good thing for lanky old me.

All in all I recommend Wijalis, maybe a little expensive compared to others on mainland UK (I'm a Brit abroad) but the end product is top notch.
