Taming the FZ6 clutch - mt07 push lever?
Posted by: Arfa - 21-08-19, 11:08 PM - Forum: FZ6 / FZ6 Fazer - Replies (1)

Yeah clutch on the FZ6 is a bit naff. Got to release it a huge amount before it starts to bite, then just release a fraction more to fully drop it. It's stiff, it's on-off, easy to stall and tricky to smooth. And that's after a brand new cable...

Saw this hack:
https://www.reddit.com/r/fz6/comments/b6...post_title

Swap the clutch push lever on top of clutch case cover for longer arm one off mt07. Part num: 1WS-16340-00

Anyone tried this?
Easy to swap? Or does clutch cover need to come off?

  FZ1 / FZ8 Pillion Seat - Does either directly fit to FZ1-S
Posted by: moffmeister - 21-08-19, 10:45 AM - Forum: General - No Replies

does anyone know if the FZ1 (naked) pillion seat will fit the FZ1-S? And/or is the FZ-8 seat compatible (with FZ1-S)? I didn't fasten mine down properly (for the second time ?) and when arriving at destination it was gone... :\
Or if anyone has a spare pillion seat??

LOFO's. Day trip to Cornwall on Monday.
Posted by: robbo - 20-08-19, 01:37 PM - Forum: Events, Meets, Ride outs etc - Replies (9)

Me and my pal are doing a day trip to Cornwall on Monday. I'll no doubt have to use my Triumph to save the thou's tyres for my French trip next month. If anyone fancies it, can meet on the A3 south of M25, or Popham services on A303. This whizz is predominantly A and B roads, and is roughly 470 miles round trip from South London.

Think you are a long distance cyclist?

Have a go at this :eek
https://www.paris-brest-paris.org/index2...orique_pbp

7600 cyclists left Paris between 4pm yesterday and 5am this morning to cycle to Brest and back. A total of 1200km (800 miles) and they must complete the "race" within 90 hours with no backup vehicles. They stop where they want, eat and sleep when/where they want and basically cycle for as many of the 24 hours each day as their body will allow.

They are currently over halfway to Brest having passed through the area where I am (Mayenne) today. Hopefully I wont see to many of the foccers tomorrow but expect to see a lot on their way back to Paris on Wednesday

Very unlikely but may come in handy for someone.

Standard end can free to anyone that wants it, pickup preferred from Bolton BL7 but will post, probably cost £10 ish
In good overall condition,

It'll be visiting the tip if not gone before next Monday

  bike fails under load
Posted by: celticdog - 18-08-19, 07:18 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Well this is a new one on me, the bikes been running crap recently, cut a long story short I've not had the time or the inclination to keep on top of the maintenance for a while now.
Anyway, she (the bike) starts ok but as soon as I've put her in gear and tried to move off the revs die off and the engine cuts out.

When she's running she sounds like a sewing machine, camchain rattling like a good 'un but that's another story.

The bike used to take a bit of choke to start, now it's the opposite- the choke needs to be off and the revs at zero before the engine kicks into life. Another thing, once the bikes idling at stationary, if I rev the bike hard the engine cuts out. Any Ideas on where to look, as I've said if anyone can save me a bit of time with this one it's much appreciated  Smile
