Hi guys & gals, I’m Stew a newbie on here from Gloucester. I just got my first Fazer 1000 and enjoying the ride. I did Cassington bike night last Monday and had a blast to Abergavenny with a few mates today.

  Bahco spanner headsup.

Just ordered a set of Bahco ratcheting spanners. Not seen these before, but maybe I need to get out a bit more :lol . Each spanner head is a double ended socket and covers 2 metric sizes, so the set of 3 spanners in a pouch covers 12 sizes(8mm to 19mm going from memory). Ideal for carrying on the bike. £29.95

Crashed heavily at Assen today in free practise. Two vertebra damaged, so out for this and the next round in Germany. At least no-one will get skittled by him this weekend.(Bit harsh, but you know what I mean).

For Sale: FZS600 (W reg) 2000, Cameleon colour change wrap!
Posted by: Gabrael72 - 28-06-19, 03:45 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (3)

So my much loved FZS600 is up for sale.
I've had this bike three years and serviced it twice in this period, this month it has had..
Fork oil 15w & seals changed,
Oil, air & fuel filter changed,
NGK plugs,
Castrol Power 1 oil change,
New coolant,
New EBC front rotors & pads,
Carbs cleaned & new bowl seals, float seats & needles.
Cameleon vinyl colour changing wrap,
New seat cover,
New ultra bright LED sidelight.

MOT until June 2020, no advisories.
It has an HID conversion on left headlamp, Oxford heated grips, dual USB charger & META 357T v2 alarm (with two fobs & code card)
The clock shows 76,000 miles, bit this is not true representation, 2010 it was on 24,000 at MOT, 2011 it was presented at MOT with no speedometer (it was not working I was informed at purchase) 2012 MOT it had a replacement Speedo but showed 68,000 (off another bike) it's now showing 76,000 and I've done just over 6000 of them in the last three years.

£1600 elsewhere but to a fellow foccer £1400.

  Pilot screw seized
Posted by: davebiker - 27-06-19, 10:32 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (8)

Hi, got my bike out of the garage recently after several months without use and it would not idle. Sounded like a fuel problem (fuel probably too old) so I tool the carbs off to clean them. I removed the pilot screws from carbs 2, 3 and 4 easily but the one in carb1 seemed to be seized. When I applied some force with a screwdriver the four quarters of the head just broke off.
Has anybody else had this problem? Should I buy an extractor set you see advertised and use this after drilling into the screw?
Or should I just leave it where it is and hope it is ok? I don't really want to put everything back and then find it is still not running properly.
I would be grateful for any advice.
Dave

For Sale: FZS1000 54-plate Blue 33k miles. Reduced to £2,000.

I bought this as a bigger, comfier version of the Fazer 600 I’d had previously but as you all know it's much more of a hooligan than the lazy old sofa I’d expected. There’s no reason you couldn’t potter about on it or go touring but it invites you (or me at least) to misbehave most of the time. A lovely bike but having ridden fewer than 2.5k miles over the last 3yrs it’s time for it to go. It’s got all the usual tweaks – fully Ivanized, 4degree ignition advance, Nitron rear shock, braided hoses, Scorpion exhaust, MRA adjustable screen. It’s been garaged during my ownership. It has the original toolkit and a new Motobatt battery and the Michelin Pilot Road 4 tyres have about 1,500 miles on them. Givi Monokey top-plate and pannier carriers and as-new V46 Top Box (not pictured) included. The digital gear indicator used to work and probably would again it someone could locate the other DIN plug it’s dangling cable is intended to mate with. Having become disconnected I assume it’s somewhere under the tank but I haven’t been able to ferret it out. The only other bad point I can think of is the sticky residue from the inch-high black tape that was presumably stopping jacket zips from scratching the tank where it meets the seat. I shouldn’t have tried to take it off but I’ll leave the next owner to either clean it up or cover it with a tank protector. Bought from this forum in 2005 as was my much-missed FZS600. Bike is in Swansea.
