Hi Fazoids - Any suggestions/ recommendations/ experiences with top boxes. What looks and works best on the Fazer? I'm thinking of putting one on my FZ6 S2 (08) to add a bit of much needed practicality at the shops and for storing my helmet.
Bit confused though with the various things I see for sale on websites. I gather most people go for Givi and I would need to buy a mounting kit which seems to include arms and a rack. Do I also need to purchase separately a specific plate to fix the box onto as these appear to be quite expensive. I see stuff like M5 or M6M plates going for the £50 mark.
For example I was looking at this but it's not really clear what you get: https://www.louis.ie/artikel/givi-monora...de786b6407
Thanks for any help!

I'm thinking of buying. Do any of you lot have one? Or any friends?
What do you think of them against the Goldwing or an RT?
I'm vertically challenged and after sitting on a GTL it's the first bike since my old Honda VT500 that I've been able to get both feet flat on the floor.

2002 Yamaha Fazer in black, loads of extras (all you need). It is Mot’d til June 21st 2020, recently had its all important 24000 mile dealer service. Just had new front discs & pads, clutch cable & new rear tyre. This bike needs nothing, all ready to go, only selling due to new bike. No test rides unless cash in hand & you can show insurance. All in all a lovely genuine bike with low mileage for the year, any questions please ask.
Fitted extras:-
LSL handlebars, taller smoked screen, 12volt socket, Oxford heated grips, hugger, Black Widow full exhaust system, topbox, crash bungs, fender extender, tail tidy & mini indicators.

| Oil residue on re-built forks |

Hi all, quick question for the group, I have just rebuilt my forks, new seals / dust covers fitted and new top bush too, new oil and re-fitted to the bike (2002 FZS). They feel a lot better and I have done a couple of 40 milers since the re-build but am now noticing some very light oil residue on the stanchions and lines of oil at the top end of the fork travel. I had expected the high tide marks but not the very thin coating on the stanchions? My XJR stanchions are bone dry. Any tips / advice? I am learning the ropes so to speak at motorcycle maintenance so it is very possible that I could have done something wrong its usually my fault (photos taken but were not showing the fault very good, so did not upload them)
TIA

Hiya peeps, I'm hoping to take my bike to France soon for 5 days of just riding around. What do I need to take and what in your opinions is an essential take. The law seem to change regularly so what do I need to take legally? Hi viz, breathalyser?

Me and Dave (Dynspud) had a bloody lovely day on the welsh mountain roads yesterday, him on his fazer, me on the xjr. Arranged to do it again today, but on the cruisers this time, and take a relaxed ride up to the reservoirs. This morning me and the gruppenfuhrer headed out to Chepstow then stopped for a coffee before heading deeper into wales, to meet Dave at the bike café just outside of Abergavenny. Thats when I got the text.."Had a big smash mate, bikes mullered. Sorry but cant make it.."
Couldn't get him on the phone(was tied up with the police and ambulance etc as it turned out) so we set of for Abergavenny, then tried again at the café. Finally got hold of him, and Dave being Dave, he said not to worry, he'd be fine etc, but we weren't having that so headed out to his gaff. Got there to find one very sore and rightly pissed off (think his bikes a write off ) feller.
Im so relieved my mate is ok but gutted for him. He fucking loved that bike to bits, and a two grand bike written off means fuck all to an insurance company, whilst at the same time an awful lot to us who run and look after them.
I know most of you dont know Dave, but hes one of lifes good uns, and a bloody good friend to have.
im just glad hes still here...
