Just got me a Gen 1 thou and the tacho jumps to 7k then back to 0. Is this OK or an Exup fault?

Gear indicator installation .Where is the crankshaft Position sensor connector
Posted by: bernieeccles - 13-07-19, 05:18 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

As per title. FZS 600 2002 Foxeye.

Does anyone know where the 2 pole connector is located so I can wire in green wire from the indicator and what are the colours of the wires in the connector?

A picture would be nice. I've looked for videos etc on you tube but cannot seem to find where it is situated.

Cheers.

Buying a 58 plate FZ1 Fazer, what should I look out for?
Posted by: Gabrael72 - 12-07-19, 09:52 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (11)

Hi guys and gals, I'm looking at a very nice conditioned, low mileage 08 FZ1 Tuesday, what should I be looking out for apart from the obvious checks, it also has a full service history?

Mistake on the 98 wiring diagram?
Posted by: His Dudeness - 12-07-19, 06:52 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (13)

If you look at the ignition in the 98 wiring diagram http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php?action=down...iew;down=8
The diagram shows a connection between the blue wire coming off the ignition and the black wire going between the alarm and the ignitor. Is that connection a mistake?

Three small adjustments made a difference
Posted by: agricola - 11-07-19, 06:25 PM - Forum: General - Replies (10)

Ive always felt that the FZ6 S2 gearbox is a little cluncky in the low gears, and from neutral to first particularly so. In the past , Ive tried lowering the tickover speed to help ease the change but the bike then became inclined to stall. So, yesterday I adjusted the chain tighter than normally, and not as the book recommends, 48 years as a mechanical tradesman gives me a feel for what is overtight or not. And it has made a difference, the cluncking is significantly less, and changes overall smoother and quieter. Pleased with that. Second up was that I cocked up at the petrol station and absent mindedly filled up with plain unleaded rather than super with no ethanol. On a run out today around Derbyshire, although I was perhaps looking for the opposite, the bike actually felt like it was throttling a little smoother. Nothing really significant, but noticeable. Si Im gonna continue with super for a while longer. Third up was adjustment to the position of the handle bars. On a decent long ride or trackday, my shoulders ache, so I tried moving the rotating the bars in the clamps backwards (closer to me) as ive shortish arms. Uncomfortable, so went the opposite way thinking that would be worse but no, it was actually way more comfortable and so relaxing riding around the Dales

FZ6 Genuine Luggage Rack For Sale
Posted by: BenSuffolk - 09-07-19, 07:02 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (1)

I have a genuine yamaha luggage carrier for sale. Yamaha Part Number 5vx-w0736-00-00

I haven't used it but the previous owner of my 2008 FZ6 S2 was very proud of it! It is a yamaha genuine part that fits directly to the pillion handles. It is fitted with a monolock case attachment - but I have never tried fitting a top box to it. If you see the pics and instructions on the attachments then hopefully it will be clear.

Offers please, but bear in mind if it's a silly low offer then I won't bother to walk to the post office to post it to you! It will cost about £6 to post. Clear funds before it goes in the post.

What I don't have is the protective strips that stick to the handles to protect them. You can use tape or thin rubber.

If you open the PDF attachment - it shows the mounting instructions.
