  bar end question
Posted by: serberusno1 - 09-10-11, 05:21 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (12)

Hi All,

I have an FZS600- just so your all sure.... I recently bought some handguards and a universal adapter kit but by the looks of it the kit won't work. The problem is, as you can see in the image.... The bar inside is blocked up by the part the bar ends screw into. Can this part be easily and safely removed? And if so can it be put back in for whatever reason?

an update had an issue with chain clearance in the clutch cable to push rod thing so out with the hacksaw a lot cheaper than spending £200 on a 520 chain+ sprockets

nearly had a head on with a police car on the way home from work tonight ...... shit myself. I was in my car in the wet a police car with lights flashing came around the bend on my side of the road going like fuck with another following sooooooooooooo close i had to slam on & swerve onto the footpath nearly hitting the stone wallto get out of his way.
If i had,nt of taken evasive action it would of been a right mess what pissed me off ,the second car saw everything & never stopped, ive reported it don,t know if that was a bright move but i was shaking like a shitting dog when i got home

400 and 600 parts that are the same
Posted by: His Dudeness - 08-10-11, 10:28 PM - Forum: Fazer 400 and other models - Replies (22)

Here are some of the parts that I found that were the same on the 400 and the 600.

Parts That Are Definitely The Same  Smile

Carb intake rubbers
Rear brake pads
Throttle cable
Clutch cable
Brake lever
Clutch lever
Radiator end covers
Oil filter
Air filter
Front fairing
Front screen
Exhaust end can and link pipe. not sure about the headers though
Front and rear wheels and tyres
Chain and sprokets
Battery

Parts That Are Not The Same Sad

Carbs are totally different
Headlight unit and bulbs ae different

I know loads more parts will interchange between the two bikes but I've only put up ones that I've actually tried. If you've bought other 600 parts and they turned out to be the same as the 400 parts then add them to the list

  Chain and Sprockets Replacement
Posted by: Andy - 08-10-11, 08:09 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

I removed a chain that was stretched so far it was almost off the rear sprocket :eek
The question I have is, the chain came with a permanent connecting link and a removable clip link which is best?
I've put the removable clip type on for now but as my Fazer is driven at 100mph on a regular basis up the M27 I was worried about shain coming apart  Wink

  Stainless steel downpipes - maintainance?
Posted by: Kenny Dave - 08-10-11, 07:20 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I can't find it. I have stainless downpipes on my FZS600 mark 1, and I let them get in a bit of a state. I've had them off and been getting the rust off with a whirly wire brush drill attachment. It's leaving them very tarnished still though and I'm wondering what to do. Stainless means stainless all the way through, not just a coating like chroming, right?

Pics: http://imageshack.us/g/508/fazerzorst1640.jpg/

My options are:

Nowt, leave it skanky
sandpaper, but this takes material off
Paint - but I seem to remember that stainless doesn't take paint well?

Cheers if anyone can help.
