Posted by: GringoRojo - 28-10-11, 12:51 AM - Forum: General - Replies (156)

(idea stolen from another forum)

apart from riding it to/from work, today I fiddled with the screen height, tweeked the fog light angles, and booked a 6000mile service. what did you do to yours?

Any other SAFFAS on this site?
Posted by: fazerlover - 27-10-11, 06:32 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (2)

Hi guys.

I bought a 2002 Fazer 1000 a couple of months ago, must say what a fantastic bike! First ride was from Cape Town to Margate, 1630km. That's 1000 miles, roughly! lol. Are there any other South Africans on this site? Just wondering, as I have gotten some great ideas and info from the rest of the members, but would be nice to meet some of the local SA lads if there are any!

By the way, are accessories like belly pans, and huggers also expensive compared to the price of the bike in the uk? I payed R35k for my bike, 19500km on the clock and looking good for nearly 10 years old. Price for belly pan in SA, R3k! Hugger, R2K. Bloody awful I think.

  Dremel multi tool
Posted by: phil on a fazer - 27-10-11, 05:50 PM - Forum: General - Replies (6)

Hi

I want  to get a Dremel multi tool but cant decide which one.....either the 300 (about £40) or the 4000 (about £70). The 4000 is basically more powerful but what i would like to know is.......is it bigger? heavier?....much more awkward to use?

Normally i go by the motto of more power is better, but I'm not too flush with cash at the mo so i don't want to be spending extra beans when i don't need to.

what do ya reckon?

Phil

Just had new tyres fitted to my bike...according to the fitter I need new chain and sproket because when he adjusted the chain there are tight spots...I've done 25000mls...he quoted me £130 supply and fit Gold "o" ring type chain...is it a reasonable price or should I try Yamaha and get the original ones. Pls help as I only know how to ride and nothing else!

  What would you buy?
Posted by: Mark1Fazer - 26-10-11, 08:23 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (12)

Got authorisation to spend £600 on my FZS600 2002 MK1.
Question is; apart from a full service, new tyres, head races, brakes which have just been overhauled...
What would you spend it on to prolong life, make it run better, prevent breakdowns etc...
Are there any parts electrical or mechanical that you'd change now because they are prone to failure.
All ideas welcome............Thanks......Mark.
