Plastic repairs
Posted by: steve 10562cc - 18-09-19, 06:15 AM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

I think I read on here some time ago that some one had found a plastic plumbing pipe glue that worked on fairings and other bike plastics but I can't find the post does any one remember what it was called.

Not much luck with the Gunsons Colortune
Posted by: redmandan - 13-09-19, 07:23 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (14)

Hi Guys

So this Summer I fitted my new Delkevic full exhaust and today the K&N air filter arrived along with a Colortune! (American spelling of colour of course  :b )

Whilst the tank was off to fit the new air filter I figured I'd re-balance the carbs and hook up the Colortune. As for balancing I'm pretty sure I've got some air getting in at the connection points on the boots for the Vaccuum gauges. I have cheap Chinese boots and the balance gauge connection posts can easily be pulled out. But I digress.

I connected the colortune reasonably easily, fired it up and I couldn't see anything at all. Maybe my idle is too high or it was too bright out but it was a pretty dull and overcast day so I don't really know what's up. All the videos online seem to show a really clear burn on the colortune. Whats more, the colortune kept arcing to the head, this didn't seem too safe so I took a quick video, put the nromal plug back in and decied to retreat to ask you all once again for your sage advice.

https://youtu.be/ZvaFINWu4ts https://youtu.be/ZvaFINWu4ts

I tried with the 45 degree mirror attachment thing but that didn't help either.

I have noticed before, when I was removing plug caps with the engine running, that it was very easy to receive a shock through the HT leads. Is this normal? surely it's all well insulated?

Also a couple of pics of my spark plugs directly after removing if the FOC-u gurus wouldn't mind casting your eyes over them. This is after warming up, in neutral only, going up to around 3500 revs.

Cheers for the help

evening all... 8)

been a biker for 1000's of years... :rolleyes ....have a blackbird with gravel rash...(winter project)
so to tide me over I bought a15k mile 04 F1, not knowing anything about them other than they were top of the recommendation list
compiled by friends..I'm pleasantly surprised.........it goes like stink...complete lunatic over 7k revs.
now I'm use to going like stink because the blackbird goes like stink but I suspect the F1 would be a little quicker to 100
before the xx took over all the way up to 180.. :eek ... think by now you may be getting a clue as to my user name  :evil Wink

thing is.. I don't know anyone else with an F1 so..if anyone would like to meet up sometime for a blast.. preferable over wales way
let me know and well sort out a meeting place..

looking forward to membership

regards
geriatric lunatic Smile

Posted by: anutz - 12-09-19, 08:09 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (6)

Not sure on price but my FZS600 is getting in my way and is not being used, done only a few miles past 2 years.

Needs front brakes sorting as starting to bind, not got an MOT....

19K miles on engine, has had issue where i snapped an exhaust stud, ended up with the cylinder head off to re-drill a blank opposite to allow exhaust to clamp, no issue since...some may recall the thread, i will never forget it Smile

Any one interested would need to pick up and collect with a van, what would people say its worth, bearing in mind what it needs sorting....

- Braided Lines Hel
- Scoprion Exhaust
- Clean rear caliper
- Good chain
- Little bits of rust creeping in...

Will get some pics on later...not got time right now.

Also have an R6 shock that i got off a member here with the dogbones, so someone might want that, not on the bike right now, stock one is on...

Thanks

Chris
