  Fzs1000 rear Caliper
Posted by: Riggerlee88 - 30-09-19, 11:03 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (14)

Managed to get my hands on a fzs1000 rear Caliper for £40!!! Delighted with that outcome. it Has arrived today doesn’t look in too bad of shape but I want to strip them down and change all the seals. My question is how do I remove the pistons on these do I need to buy a blue spot tool also is that the same for the front as I will work on them too? Just refurbed my rear 600 Caliper if anyone is interested just needs new seals and bleed nipples.

Advice Gaming Monitor For Son's Birthday
Posted by: Frosties - 29-09-19, 09:12 PM - Forum: General - Replies (11)

Hi all, as per title as always.

My son's 15th birthdai looming next Friday and he has asked for a gamimg monitor for an Xbox 1/360 - whichecer is the latest one.

He currently has a 24" TV as the monitor, never asks for much (bless him) so price is really not an isssue.

Need some advice on a good one which he will notice the difference with.

The only one I have managed to ferrett out is in the link below.

https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/...0-pdt.html

So, am I looking in the right direction or are there better alternatives out there?

Any advise as always much appreciated in advance.

Cheers fellas.

  Centre Stand Refurb
Posted by: HarryHornby - 28-09-19, 01:56 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (8)

Hi All,

I've had a replacement centre stand on my work bench for over a year now and today I finally went out, bought a spinney wire brush thing for my drill and got to it.  I now have a mostly shiny centre stand.

So, what do I do now?  I've never done anything like this before.  My questions are:

There are a couple of spots of surface rust, where I can't get to them.  Shall I  just cure rust those?

What primer should I use?  I'm guessing a rattle can, but what metal is the stand and do I need a certain type?

Thoughts on top coat?  Just black metal paint?

I'm guessing I don't want to spray too much paint around the mounting holes, or it won't swing up and down when on, correct?  So do I  just do a lite coat there?

The rubber bung thing that sits against the exhaust, leave in place and mask as best as possible or cut off and replace?

Sorry, prob  some silly  and over thought questions, I know, but, cheers as always.

Harry

New owner collects today, fantastic memories and great fun on this bike. New one is a worthy  successor apart from the soft suspension.
