  Fitting Koso clocks
Posted by: benny3008 - 22-09-19, 10:16 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

Has anyone fitted a koso to a 2003 fazer who could give me some guidance on the wiring please? I’ve done all the wires for lighting, fuel etc. but not sure where the brown and red wire from koso should be connected to on the bikes wiring. I have pictures of wiring diagram and koso instructions if someone cane make more sense of it than me.

  Hi from Bradford
Posted by: Hos - 22-09-19, 06:11 PM - Forum: Introduction - No Replies

I've recently sold my XJR1300 which leaves me with my xvz1300 venture which is great when you feel like a comfy cruise to the coast with the Missus but I'm missing my XJR and always fancied an FZ1, so that's why i'm here to hopefully get some advise before buying one. I've done my homework and read loads of reviews and the only real concern for me is the low to mid range torque. Is it really so detrimental to the bike and can it be improved with the right mods.
cheers in advance Hos
PS. tried to put pics on but I think i'm too old to understand how :wall

  front wheel bearing kits
Posted by: butthead - 22-09-19, 12:21 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (9)

just had my mot , passed but with advisory on front wheel bearings . guy said to avoid cheap wheel kits as they will not last. suggested SKF or FAG bearings, but on ebay i cant see any of those specific makes theres mostly NTN that seem cheap on price and kind of what he said to avoid, theres some CHALLENGE kits £30 and various more pricey kits from USA germany.
as SKF  and FAG dont sell directly any advice on good bearing kit makes and where anyone has got them from before? any help appreciated

  CLUNK,CLUNK,CLUNK,CLUNK
Posted by: TOM VR46 - 21-09-19, 03:10 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (48)

This is only way I can describe this. Any gear when applying throttle, all I can hear and slightly feel is CLUNK :rolleyes , CLUNK :rolleyes ,CLUNK !! :rolleyes :eek :rolleyes :rolleyes !. Clutch in and free wheel - no clunk.  The clunk is getting slowly louder, don't know how long it would last before Clunk goes to Crunch !!. When just sitting ticking over all is ok, just when you are moving creates the Clunk.
Any ideas on where to start looking welcome and will be big help. My problem too, is time, if this is strip engine, could be long fix.
Oh, if just sitting and first gear, front brake on, slowly let clutch out , will pull no problems with no Clunk, only when moving does the clunk start.
Peeved as it great day for run. :'( :'( .
Oh, 2001 FZS 600 with just over 64 thousand on clock.

Hi All,

Has anyone on here purchased those cheap carb rubbers off Ebay?  If so, how did you get on, are they worth the money or is it best to just swallow £70 for ones from Fowlers etc?

Cheers

  exhaust blowing at headers.....
Posted by: mobile mouse - 20-09-19, 09:49 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (11)

MY03 200miles of 55k.

Replaced the headers probably 8-9 years ago cannot remember with what but they are SS and looking ok for thier age.

But this week i started to notice at startup an odd noise at idle. I stop at a set of lights 1/2 mile from home every weekday and by then the noise disappears until the last few days.

So it's definatly turned into blowing headers.
The nuts are SS and holding up to the year round weather that is thrown at them but this is the big but

the studs (90116-06475)

look like they have rotted with corrosion can this happen to a 55k 16year old bike.

Will I need to replace the studs with new one's which i know can be a knightmare.

may try and put a photo on tomorrow.....

  R1 2002-2003 forks to FZ1 gen 2
Posted by: an2riuz - 20-09-19, 01:07 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (1)

Hi guys,
browsing the internet for quite a while now, i couldn't find any appropriate info about R1 forks swap from these particular year, 2002-2003. 99.9% info is about swaps taking 2004 and later years R1 forks.
Have anyone tried fitting 2002-2003 R1 forks to FZ1? What parts required, etc.
2004 and above option is not available for me.
Thanks!
