  Am I liable??
Posted by: Rehab - 14-12-11, 12:43 AM - Forum: General - Replies (30)

Had an accident last night, I was taking some blood samples from work to the local hospital on my way home.

Anyway...

I was filtering past standing traffic and went round a bus (on its right in the middle of the road) doing 10/15 mph, as I cleared the front a (bi)cyclist appeared to my left from between the bus and a car. There was another bus coming down the other side of the road and I didn't have the room to go round him. So I didn't hurt him I just about managed to glance off his side. I've lost the front end doing this and hit the deck. His cycle has hit the car we were next to.

The outcome is that the car has a crease in the wing from the cycle hitting it (I never touched the car), the cycle itself has a buckled front wheel and my bike has lost a load of paint of the fairing and snapped the infill panel on the right. Couple of marks here and there but nowt serious. Cyclist not hurt, I have bumps scrapes and a broken right wrist.

Both the other guys were dead on and cool with me, the police saw me in the hospital and said as far as they were concerned there was nothing that suggested driving without due care ect.

Now I guess my question is this -- If anything insurance wise comes out of this what could the possible outcomes?

Any ideas guys??

Cheers

  road dirt on visor
Posted by: tinken - 13-12-11, 11:42 PM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

Hi, I have a problem with a lot of road dirt on my visor to the extent I have to clean it every few mins.  This is on wet roads but no rain to help keep visor clean.  I'm riding an FZ1.  No one else in the group I'm riding with has this problem.  I'm only 5' 5'' so maybe it's a height to screen ratio - thing.  Anyone else have this prob with an FZ1 or any ideas ?  :\

  Quick Chain help..!
Posted by: Silverdream - 13-12-11, 10:26 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (5)

Hi ..

Change my rear sprocket out for a 46t (standard 44t)...  8)

Now the chain is way tight... these bikes need a lot of slack.. the axle is right up against the adjusters.. there is no more slack towards the front..

Question.... Standard Fazer Thou (insert prefered brand name) is a 530 chain with 116 links....

Now the R1 uses a 530 - 118 link chain and the CBR1000 uses a 530 -120 link chain..

Which do you reckon to get some slack back .. 118 links or 120 links...??  Smile

carbon rad covers from Germany ordered tuesday arrived friday perfect fit and all the original bushes fit and the holes align 100%

Whilst i was at it i won some R1 NRC engine covers off evilbay the casings are rough finished and unpainted as stock so i got to work sanding the casings for a smooth finish than took a box of bits to have powder coated.

I brought a sargent seat last week however when it arrived and i fitted the seat the rear pillion seat is slightly wider and touched the rentec grab rail and in time i felt it would rub thro and tbh i felt it did not follow the lines of the rear cowling so i sent it back for a refund, and than sent my original seat to Coventry custom seats for a remake and a gelastic pad and the outcome i saved £££ and im very happy with melvyn's work yet again and turn around was 3 days

  Samsung laptop help required
Posted by: Agent Picolax - 12-12-11, 09:22 PM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

A friend of ours has just been given a Samsung P29 laptop, and she is having a few problems trying to get it to connect to the internet via the wireless router. She has connected other laptops, so has a reasonable amount of knowledge of setting up wireless connections, but she is really struggling with this one. She (and her laptop) are 25 miles away from where I live, so I haven't seen it or been able to help her, just wondering if any Foccers have any experience of this particular laptop and could point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance  Wink

  bit bloody nippy
Posted by: Just Anne - 12-12-11, 08:14 PM - Forum: General - Replies (6)

How do I stop from thinking, ah nice sunny day, best ride the bike to work. How stupid am I :eek

25 miles later, slipping all around then get to work and can't undo me lid, thank god for secretaries! It takes 30 minutes for my fingers to stop feeling like they will explode then have to do the reverse in the foccin' dark.

Mad, just quite mad :rolleyes  note to self....December is a bit too nippy for an old bird.

Anne
