helmet cameras

Looking at buying a helmet camera but not sure what to go for. I am tempted by the Conour Roam HD, does anyone have any experience of this or any other camera?

Anyone got any experience with the replay xd 1080p? Seems to be the new kid on the block - I'm not sure how best to mount it though - helmet or fairing.

Quality is excellent. I saw the GoPro at the Scottish Bike show but tbh I thought it looked quite bulky. How did you attach it to the bike?

Go Pro Hd for me top quality and bombproof  :photo and can be adapted with different mounts helmet / chest / bars / screen etc.

I'm currently waiting for some bits to adapt a mini HD cam that fits in your helmet and will record continually, will post when I've sorted it out. The total cost will be about £60-70 and it's 720 HD I think.

I found one of these in the undergrowth next to a very bumpy downhill section of woodland bike track.

Some cyclist had velcro'd it to his hat, not very well.

Contained a 8GB TF card with 2 videos of some blokes lycra-clad bum and 1 video of a short bike-ride followed by a load of spinning trees followed by 40 mins of some chap beating the undergrowth shouting "Have you found it yet? :rollin

Video quality was quite good.

That's the one I've got. I honestly thought they were a con but was pleasantly surprised that it isn't. There's abit of a buzz around them and a massive forum thread here:

There are quite a few different versions of the camera in the same casing, they're called "808 keychain cam" I've got the #16 from this guy (£25 delivered without a memory card):

I've worked out a mount and just waiting for some bits to be delivered for a power supply, the battery only lasts an hour or so but it can record while charging.
Going to fit a cig lighter under my seat, use a USB adapter and run a wire upto my helmet. I've thought about accidentally garroting myself, the cable from under my seat is a USB extension connecting to the adapter that hangs out of my helmet at about shoulder height so should pop out if I get into trouble.

It's attached to the clutch cover using the suction mount.

I'm also thinking about a helmet cam, but want something discreet, cheap (no more than £150) good battery life and reliability.


The go pro looks too bulky, and also worried about it flying off my helmet.


Any other ideas??

You can mount one of those keyring cams inside your helmet and the video is very good quality for £25. They have 40 min battery life but if you run a USB cable down to a cig lighter socket under your seat it will run indefinitely and you can set the camera to record over old files. I'm currently waiting on a cable that sticks out less so i can fit it in my helmet permanently, they relay are tiny. I'll put up a video at weekend if I remember/can find one.

Just bought a drift x170.


As I basically do as much riding in a day as most couriers, I need good battery life. I also want something to point at to show drivers that I have caught them on film being dicks . . .

superglued some velcro to the back of it..........simples.
found that it's easily upset by electrical signals, here it's mounted just above the ignition switch on the top of TT mount..........cracking road
