  ACF50 & brakes dont mix
Posted by: Bracechenko - 07-01-12, 04:35 PM - Forum: General - Replies (6)

...FACT!!

Got it on the tyres too so should be an interesting ride!! I was ready to put it away but didn't want to leave it so took it for a ride to try and clear the contamination. Man, basically there were no brakes to start.....got them biting again now but still some way to full power.

Still, i've stuck a big piece of card with "ACF50!!!" on it to remind me for when I use it next as i'll still need to be careful with the tyres etc.

D'OH!!

  Front fork compression damping adjuster
Posted by: nickodemon - 07-01-12, 01:45 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (14)

Decided to set up the front forks on my recently acquired gen 1 and found the compression damping adjusters at the bottom of the fork legs seized solid. Anyone have useful tips to free them off. I have given them a good soaking with silkopen, but i think it will require another method, Cheers.

Has anyone got a set of knackered clocks looking for a home? I'm after a set with the lcd clock built in(mk2?) to see if they can be easily pulled apart and the lcd hacked into, accident damaged is no problem as they won't be getting used other than experimental purposes.
I'm thinking along the lines of built in gear indicator and engine temp(maybe also oil temp) using a bit extra electronics but don't know how much room is inside the unit, don't want to destroy the good one I have just to try the theory, probably won't work so don't want to pay good money either hence the accident damaged approach.

Went on a lovely ride along the coast today (sorry, 25c and sunny - had to be done Wink ) and reprised a photo shoot I did back in Jan 2006.  There's been more than a few changes to the old girl over the years since we moved to Spain and since I first got her back in 2002.

Almost ten years old, 44k miles on the clock (yeah, must try harder  :lol ) and she runs and rides better now than ever before.

Which is nice.  Big Grin

  Xbox hard drive woe's
Posted by: ghostbiker - 06-01-12, 03:27 PM - Forum: General - Replies (9)

Time to tap the foc'er font of knowlage again Tongue

Had a stroke of luck just affter Xmas, been affter an Xbox 360 for a while but on REALY limited funds so was going to go for a 3 red ring of death one and try to fix it.
Well ended up i found a guy selling a 4gig 1 month old Xbox 360 (slim?) its the new shape anyway. so got that with kinect and half a dozen games £70..... foc'ing bargin of the year!!!
now i know bugger all about the xbox realy but have since found that as its only 4gig thats fine for game saves and a little updates some games get now and then, but i can se that there is much download content avail and it would be nice to have a hard drive.

I thought i could pick up a 60gig Xbox drive for around £15 but its the old Xbox drive and now found out it wont fit the new shape box.
I was then told you can just drop on a USB 2.0 drive so that seemed a good idea untill i googled it and found that its ok for your files like music and vids but cant be used for xbox live downloads or games files.
the new style hard drives are blood expensive for what they are, so a cheap way round it would be good.

So dose anyone know a way to either make a old style xbox drive fit the new style xbox? or some other way to get hard drive space?

i did see this.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HARD-DISK-DRIV...7562104962

but the xbox slim they show in the pic dosent look like mine as i just have 1 slot on the front (not including the cd drive tray) and im not sure if it dose what i thought, and thats convert a old xbox drive to fit the new....

i hate tech lol

Oh on a side note whats a realy good RPG ? i played WOW and EQ etc for years on line and love that type of game, anything like that for xbox? i know it wont be masive online side of things but just a good rpg along those lines.

Off topic - Bluetooth question for phones in cars
Posted by: locksmith - 06-01-12, 12:03 PM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

Got bluetooth built in to my Vauxhall vivaro. I've had a recurring issue where my SonyErricsson phone seems to delete the stored BT settings for the van. It doesn't happen every time, maybe once a week, maybe three times a day!  I have to delete the phone from the vans memory and pair them again.
I reloaded the phone software and it seemed to do the trick for a while but it started again.

Got a new car with bluetooth and paired the phone to that all has been ok.

Yesterday it did it again in the van. I had been assuming it was the phone but the cars BT settings are still in the phone where as the vans settings have been deleted again, so is it the van doing it or the phone??

  Speedo healer
Posted by: nickodemon - 06-01-12, 11:29 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

Hi, I recently bought an imported gen 1 that has kph clocks fitted. The guy i bought it from said it has a speedo healer fitted. Where abouts are they usually located and how easy are they to remove. I'm thinking of converting it back to mph clocks. Also if anyone knows a shop that can correct the mileage of the clocks i buy, so that the mileage is the same. Smile Cheers.
