WANTED- Fair to good condition FZS600 Engine 98-03
Posted by: raycobb - 16-01-12, 01:02 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (3)

Hi there,

I am desperately looking for a fzs 600 engine 98-03 as my 2nd gear isn't holding anymore. It is too much to fix the gearbox so i am looking for an engine to replace it.

I dont trust the engines on ebay as the descriptions are very vague and they look like they have just been shoved on a shelf upside down.

I hope someone can help as i would like to get hold of a working engine very soon.

I heard that someone on this forum refurbishes fazer engines. I think it is MotherFoccer?

I appreciate any help and advice that can be given Smile

Hi, I work as a motorcycle courier and have just bought a fazer and have to say WOW! I love it wish I purchased one years ago. The bike was also the reason I found out about this website, when I removed the seat I found a business card where the tool kit should be.

Right o then I'm gonna crack on and browse more of the website, just thought I should pop on and say hello to everyone  Smile

  What to buy?
Posted by: Fazer Jake - 15-01-12, 08:41 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (19)

Looking to spend a few hundred quid on my fazer after an insurance payout from my old bike... decided not to part with it for a more pillion friendly bike.

So it has...

Rear Hugger
K&N
Exhaust
radiator cover

Unsure on what to buy, i was thinking a new can, aftermarket fairings (any idea where i can get these?) and a jackup kit, possibley braided hoses (do they make much of a difference?

Advice welcome/pics of your mods to persuade me!

  Greeting and instant help !

HI  :o

I am John from Hampshire and have joined as my Mrs has not been on her 2002 600 for about a year.  I decided to try and start it for her today, the first time in months and although the battery is great it just turned over and over until I smelt fuel.  I then noticed fuel pouring from a carb overflow tube.

After a bit of tinkering (effectively achieving nothing) and taking the bike out of the garage into the sun that is blazing down today, the bike eventually turned over but ran like a dog with one leg, however the fuel was now not pouring from the Carbs.  I constantly needed choke (although turned down to half after a while) and needed to keep revs to about 4k in order to keep it running

My guess is that the fuel is old and dirt / crap is in the lines, or carbs or perhaps sticky float (perhaps all of these)

I am just looking for any basic advice or something I may have missed before I either attempt to have a go myself or suggest that "she who must be obeyed" firstly gets a garage to sort it out and secondly gets her arris on the bike more often.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

J
