  My Fazer renovation
Posted by: jon49 - 26-01-12, 11:21 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (7)

Hi guys, Im new to the Forum, I've had my 2000 FZS600 Fazer for around a year or so just having the occasional ride, its standard apart from an end can. It has been a Cat C right off in the past so i just repaired the seat panel and got it on the road. I'm just Starting to clean it up and gonna add some after market parts and pimp it up a bit so thought I'd do a topic and get your opinions as i go.
I have ordered some braided hoses and have some wavy discs in mind. Have also got all my service items including some iridium NGK plugs. Want to raise the rear end up and put a tail tidy on. There will be an overhaul of  the forks and there's some work to do with the bodywork as i have a dent in the tank and hole in the fairing then it will get a nice respray. I'll be using the bike to go to the Isle of Man in June so want it completing by then, If you have any comments or ideas please feel free to give me your input.  Thanks guys.

Jon Harrison
Have attached a couple of photos of the bike as i got it. Its gonna look a bit different in a couple of months.

  Any Legal Types?
Posted by: richfzs - 26-01-12, 10:15 PM - Forum: General - Replies (14)

Am considering starting a small mail order business, running from home. I've got plenty of room for stock etc, but had a feeling there was a covenant on the property... Dug the deeds out, and sure enough there's one about not running a trade manufacture or business.

I've also heard that covenants can sometimes be easily removed - does anybody know if this is likely to be such a case? And if not, is there likely to be any real hassle over a small mail order business?

Posted by: phil on a fazer - 26-01-12, 09:22 PM - Forum: General - Replies (5)

....what type of checks do you guys do, what and how do you look for things? (i normally do basic bearing checks)

Do you take a multimeter?torch?...how far do you go to check stuff out?

I ask as I'm looking at getting another bike soonish (keeping the Thou of course) and I'm going with a mate on Sunday as he intends on getting a FZ6. (anyone know about FZ6s? posted in the section but to no great avail)

  battery time
Posted by: alan sherman - 26-01-12, 05:35 PM - Forum: General - Replies (6)

Not used the bike in a month so flat battery.  I suspect terminal as i limped it through last winter by disconnecting the battery when it wasn't being used (the clock drains the battery).

So how much is a new one for the FZS600 these days?  Any deals available that people can recommend?

16 valves 6 speed.
2 owners from new.
Liquid cooled.
Fuel injection
1479 miles from new.

  Fork oil.
Posted by: robby boy - 26-01-12, 12:10 AM - Forum: FZ6 / FZ6 Fazer - Replies (1)

A quick one for the font of knowledge, I have the complete front off the bike to respray the clock brackets and fit a new fairing, whilst I,m in this far I am planning to change the fork oil, I use the bike for the odd Sunday blast but mostly just puttling about at the weekend, (nothing too spirited) question is what is the best grade of oil to fill the forks with. Is there some makes of oil better quality than others, all inputs welcome, thanks.

  ACF-50 - old stock
Posted by: Nooj - 25-01-12, 08:57 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (8)

Three off, 1 Litre bottles of ACF-50, each with a pump dispenser, £35 each delivered (UK only). These are still in date, but my supplier will be putting their delivery prices up this month, so I'll have to do the same with the next batch I buy.Thought I'd give you some advanced notice and a chance to have the last of these bottles at the old price before they all go. You'll have to try hard to get them cheaper than this. Even better, come in to me in Newbury (Berks) and pick one up and only pay £30! No way will you beat that price!
