First post on the new forum - surprised at the slowness of this site! :eek
Anyway back to the topic - I have a pair of customised ear plugs that I have had for about five years but I guess
as my ears grow they have become un-effective, so I resorted to some wax earplugs I got in France - good but a bit
fiddly and messy.
So I looked in Boots and found some silicone ones for about £3 - not fantastic value for money (you only get three pairs),
but they are reusable and washable.
They are without a doubt the best I have found for blocking out excess noise - even better than the £50 custom plugs!
So if you care about your hearing then give them a go...

Hey guys - repost copy and share this please. BikerFM are setting up some TBE exposure this Thursday on Roger Tuson's show 8pm till 10pm. This Thursday should be a basic intro to TBE and what its about, hopefully followed up next Thursday with Talan appearing and being interviewed on the show. If you want to support TBE tune in online and use the little message box to send in your messages of support for TBE. The more that can do this the better. BikerFM link is [/size]

I have just started up my fz1 after a two month rest. It starts ok but after a couple of minutes it ticks over at 4k. I took it out for a 8 mile run . Everything seems fine power wise but when you stop or pull the clutch in it's back to the 4k. It's not the idle adjustment screw. Any ideas ?

hi all, strange post and not sure if its normal but my xup servo is making a strange type of electrical surge noise, very much like if you arc accross a battery and get a small spark. i dont mean the normal noise you get from the servo moving and its constantly there while egnition is on. ive got an led back light and the numberplate lite is flickering so i thought it was a bad earth or something so while i was investigating this i heard a noise around the engine and found it to be the servo so removed it and opened it up to find lots of plastic cogs and couldnt see a way to the electrical side so put it back together and still have this noise. is it normal or do i need to worry about it or just plug in the ipod and say fook it lol, been accross my mates and checked his R1 and no noise at all
any help would be great thanks
Cheers Mick

My beautiful Fazer (2000 FZS600 Model) has started to develop a problem. On Monday I noticed that it started to feel quite weak, and breathless, and as soon as I started to put the choke in it would stop at ever single traffic light. It would fire up again ok, but I'd ever have to leave the choke open, or keep the throttle on a tad to stop it stalling.
It has also had a massive power reduction, and feels like I am riding through treacle. The Brakes work fine, the wheels turn freely, and the horrid feeling goes when I am coasting along.
I have also had a HUGE drop in fuel economy. A full tank has only done me 90miles (eeeeck!!)
I think I might have flooded the cylinder, and that has damaged the plug, so that all cylinders aren't firing.
However, does this sound like it could be anything else??
I want to take it to a garage (so if anyone knows any good ones in North London please let me know) but I don't want them to create jobs in order to nick my cash.
Help.
