famous / iconic / recogniseable bikes.
Posted by: Lumpy - 22-02-12, 10:01 AM - Forum: General - Replies (84)

Having a discussion on a bike forum generally poulated by old farts about famous bikes. My argument is their idea of a famous bike is tainted as a result of their age so I thought a quick debate on a youngsters forum, where some may dare to fit brighter but illegal bulbs in their headlights, would show different results.

What do you consider to be a famous bike?

  Exhaust baffle
Posted by: Spud - 22-02-12, 06:59 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (5)

I've been on the lookout for carbon can( for my black bike ) for while now and have bagged myself a slightly used Akrapovic Smile .The only thing is it's a full on race can and I think it's going to be a little loud for the neighbours when I come home fromwork at 6 in the morning.

Has anybody any experience with an aftermarket  baffle that's any good?

Next stop Ivan's :lol :lol :lol

  Silverstone motoGP advice
Posted by: Skippernick - 21-02-12, 11:27 PM - Forum: General - Replies (17)

Myself and a couple of mates are going to the above event for qualifying day. We have roaming grandstand tickets. Big Grin
Just a few questions really.
Has anyone been to the new circuit? Which is the best grand stand to watch from?
What time do the gates open? Silverstone haven't published this yet but would like a heads up guesstimate.
Any other useful advice would be really appreciated.
Many thanks
nick

Any free tools for checking and fixing slow PC's?

Used a "free" tools on the Dell site that scans your pc, tells you you've got 5000 problems and then wants £25 to fix it Smile

So adeejaysdelight is doing a Tough Mudder in July, madmondeoman is doing a Triathlon in May and I'm doing 10k runs in June, July and August and the GNR in September.

How is everyone's training getting on and are there any other foccers in training for an athletic event this year?

Me I'm up to 3.3km so a third of the way there. I'm following the Couch to 5k plan for the beginning part and am on week 5. Over to you Smile

I only wanted to paint my cam cover.. .
Posted by: GrahamB - 21-02-12, 02:30 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (10)

. ..so decided to remove/ditch the AIS pump too, which led to the removal of coils so decided to change plugs whilst there. Then decided my tap & die set was a bit nasty so bought much better quality one to tap a thread in the remaining exhaust stubs. WHAT  A COMPLETE & UTTER PAIN IN THE ASS THAT JOB WAS!!! Did 2 & 3 okay but even they were awkward. Don't have a spanner small enough to fit the square end on my M8 tap so decided to use mole grips for 1 & 4.  :eek This meant I needed as much room to work as possible so decided to remove front wheel & forks. Using mole grips on a tap is not my idea of fun but it wasn't as bad as you might think. It probably took 3X longer to tap 1 & 4 as it did for 2 & 3.  Now I'm looking at getting both wheels powder coated as one is already out & have also removed front engine mount assembly for rubbing down & painting. Whilst the forks are out I might have a look at doing the cheapo spring cut, longer spacer mod too.. .  & the frame itself is looking a bit ropey. Dare I risk a full strip down & powder coat before Mike comes in April.. .  probably not.  :rolleyes

Oh yeah, cam cover turned out nice (baked on very low heat in my kitchen oven for about half an hour) but is putting the rest of the engine to shame now!

I love my Fazer thou'.  Big Grin
