  Chain oil
Posted by: dolau - 13-02-12, 09:53 PM - Forum: General - Replies (15)

OK I admit it = last time I went out in rain (not salt you understand) I put the Fazer away dirty and wet  :o

I have always used oily type chain oil and whinged about the spray over the back of the bike so when someone recommended some non splash white greasy type stuff I jumped at the chance.

I have never had rust problems on my chain with oily chain lube and always put too much on but this stuff seemjed to coat the rollers and sideplates quite nicely.... until I got the baby out yesterday before riding today and found thje rollers and sideplates all rusty.  :'(

I dont think I have any tight spots on the chain so maybe it is only surface but after a 20 mile ride today the rollers are still dull and rusty after a good coating of the oily stuff last night

Have I ruined my chain?

Been trying to recall Foccers that haven't made the migration over and realised that I've not heard owt from JC211 in ages!

Last I remember hearing from his was his views on the Dale Farm thread, any of you Southern Foccers heard from him?

ok these are as shown with machine marks (it is important you accept this is not the same as the one sold by pj but my version and there are differences)

It is pre-order and i need 5 confirmed orders to go ahead i cannot place a price here so please pm me

once the 5 orders are done then manufacture is 2 weeks plus shipping
others can be tagged on but i need 5 to get the ball rolling

shipping will be insured airsure to us and canada

so what in the package

you get the plate and the back plate stainless button head fixings and some instructions
i have really tried to hide the pipe work but not really practical as sproket try's to eat it

ok phase two for black engines

i can do a powder coated satin black finish with the circle logo and points then engraved into it this is an extra process and these will be a bit more expensive

again i need 5 more commitments to this then as above i can add to the order

i have done and paid for all the development work on this and would not b at this stage with out the help of abe

so up to you guys now

Afternoon one and all.
Am in the throws of flogging my current bike and the FZ1n is my intended replacement (hopefully a 2008 model).
If the bike I buy does not have an aftermarket exhaust, I will be getting one fitted asap. I've seen a youtube video from a guy in the US showing how to remove the stock end can and he then drills out and removes the cat inside the pipe. Should this be done when fitting all aftermarket exhausts and does it make too much difference if you do not do it?
Also, any other pitfalls (in particular for this model) I should look out for when looking at a bike to buy?
Thanks
Big Grin
