  Renthal bars
Posted by: Arfurloin - 02-11-19, 06:56 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

Hi. Looking to change the bars on my fazer. I know most people fit ultra low 758 Renthal's but, I'm short 5' 7", so think these may bit a bit of a stretch. I believe the 754 Low bars are closer to standard height but wider with less sweep. Does anyone know if they fit without having to extend front brake hose which doesn't look like it has much play on my bike. Thanks.

  Advance Train Tickets

Struggling to find an answer to this one.
If you buy a train ticket for say a month in advance from a ticket office at the train station, do you pay the same discounted price that you would if purchasing the same ticket online?.
Ta muchly.

Hi. I’ve just bought a 99 registered bike with only 23,000-ish on the clock, MoT until September 20. Being picked up by Anyvan next week, fingers crossed. Looking forward to learning from the collective wisdom  Big Grin

Filling holes in plastic Bodykit / panels - Rear pillion handles
Posted by: F4celess - 30-10-19, 06:04 PM - Forum: General - Replies (6)

Need some advice please on the best methods for this.

So I've removed the rear pillion handles on my Mk1 Fazer and am left with 2 round holes, about an inch diameter, each side on rear fairing.
(it's fine - the wife hates the bike anyway - so I'm not taking any passengers in a hurry!) Big Grin

What materials (and methods) would be best to fill the 2 holes each side, to leave a smooth finish with no clue the holes were ever there?
Plan to have the fairing painted afterwards, to complete this job.  8)

Cheers!

  Rear disc hot
Posted by: MC900 - 30-10-19, 08:48 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (10)

Just had a rear caliper (thou caliper) fitted to my 600. The rear disc is getting warm without even using the rear brake. Yesterday you could have probably cooked on it it was that hot after a bit of braking.

When the thou caliper was fitted there were no washers fitted like I've read some have done in other threads, could that be the issue? Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

  Cam chain tensioner....... Again
Posted by: Arfurloin - 29-10-19, 09:19 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (17)

Hi all. New to this site but have read a good few pages before I joined. As title subject states, I have a 03 fazer with 52,000 miles. Really happy with it for an older bike. Sounds and runs smooth once warmed up. However, the cam chain is rattling on start up but quietens once warm. I've seen on here thats pretty normal behaviour untill adjuster adjusts itself. I'm keen to give it a hand by doing the reset. The comments I've read suggest the adjuster has two springs and a ball bearing. No one mentions two ball bearings which parts manuals show. Can someone confirm. Is it one or two balls. Just like to know before I remove all the bits to get adjuster. Incase I drop something.

FZS600 - registered 17/06/99

My wife's bike, bought in 2006.  Not been used at all much in last few years.
MOT history back to 2004, MOT'd a few weeks ago - no advisories.
Owners manual and service booklet, however all our servicing done by me.
Standard bike with the exception of FUEL silencer, screen, scottoiler, back rack and top box (42l)
It's an excellent bike, never failed to start and runs like a dream.
Chain and sprockets are good as are the tyres. Motobatt battery.
Still on the original downpipes and showing their age. Paint flaking of the front of the engine.  The fuel gauge is inaccurate at times.
There are a few minor scratches on the tank.£850
Based in Pembrokeshire, SW Wales

Hi.
This is Chris. Recently acquired 03 FZS 600. Few issues but I'm working through them. Currently laid up after total knee replacement. Good bit of think and planning time re the fazer.
