Bitcoin Bullshit?
Posted by: coffee - 31-08-19, 11:36 PM - Forum: General - Replies (12)

Just thought I'd ask anyone on here if they've tried Bitcoin Revolution,I read an item where Gordon Ramsey was raving about it and someone on a morning show had almost doubled there investment by the end of it !I read a bit more about it and actually started a procedure online being very careful not to pay any money and just see what happened before commiting to it,I got as far as giving my phone number which was one step before paying £250 to start this.About 2mins after I'd given my number this guy phones up saying he's my adviser andwent on about how great this investment was,the only thing that stopped me going ahead was the fact that all the places in the actual Bitcoin place were now taken but this firm or whatever it was he's working for was exactly the same and if I'd now deposit the £250 he'd start the ball rolling,I didn't particularly like the way this was turning into a hard sell, this guy was really trying hard to get my dough.I told him I'd have to think about it and he said "I'll call you back"not 5mins later he called back and was browbeating me for this money,I then told him I didn't like his attitude and the hard sell he was giving me,he then got abusive saying "what's the matter?do you need to get your wifes ok or something?I put the phone down on him but he's called back a few times but I haven't answered him because I don't really want to start telling him to fuck off and all that.Just wondered if anyone had had any joy with this because it seems to good to be true.

  For Sale - Fazer FZS1000 2005 model
Posted by: Karl - 30-08-19, 10:27 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Fazer FZS1000 - Silver (though pics show a blue tank bag)
2005 model
£999 ONO.

Bike has been MOTed today - effectively 13 months left.
Advisories:
- Will need a front tyre soon
- Suspension pin, bush or joint worn but not resulting in excessive movement
- Shock absorber has a slight misting of oil, nearside front
- chain worn, but not considered excessive

Mileage is 49k.
The engine is not the original, as you will see from the pics it is silver, it should be black.

It is in fair condition - rust in various places, paint flaking, fairing cracked in a few places, numerous scrapes to the fairing. It has been stored outside the last two years.
Heated grips don't work.

If you aren't put off by now, the good: I've used the bike for a good few years now and it has been - and still is - a reliable commuter workhorse. It always starts. I have all the paperwork. I will actually miss it a lot, but my biking days are about to draw to a close for reasons nothing to do with this bike.

The bike is located in St Albans, with prior agreement I can commute to London if someone wants to see it at my work.

If you are interested, probably easiest to get in touch with me via email: wilding.karl@gmail.com (I'm more likely to check email regularly than this forum)
I've tried to be honest about the condition, so please don't get in touch unless you are realistic about the bike.

Fork Oil, 05 Reg, FZS !000
Posted by: Decoke Dave - 30-08-19, 04:32 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

As my bike will be kept permanently! Question is, should I change my fork oil?  The bike is soon to be 15 years old but only done just over 10,000 miles, as far as I know it has never been done ( I am obviously not the first owner).  If I should change it what viscosity of oil do you think is best , or do I stick to what Yamaha recommends?

  Best Top Box
Posted by: orion kid - 29-08-19, 04:36 PM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

Hi Fazoids - Any suggestions/ recommendations/ experiences with top boxes. What looks and works best on the Fazer? I'm thinking of putting one on my FZ6 S2 (08) to add a bit of much needed practicality at the shops and for storing my helmet.

Bit confused though with the various things I see for sale on websites. I gather most people go for Givi and I would need to buy a mounting kit which seems to include arms and a rack. Do I also need to purchase separately a specific plate to fix the box onto as these appear to be quite expensive. I see stuff like M5 or M6M plates going for the £50 mark.

For example I was looking at this but it's not really clear what you get: https://www.louis.ie/artikel/givi-monora...de786b6407

Thanks for any help!

I'm thinking of buying. Do any of you lot have one? Or any friends?
What do you think of them against the Goldwing or an RT?
I'm vertically challenged and after sitting on a GTL it's the first bike since my old Honda VT500 that I've been able to get both feet flat on the floor.

  Oil residue on re-built forks
Posted by: redsed - 27-08-19, 08:33 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Hi all, quick question for the group, I have just rebuilt my forks, new seals / dust covers fitted and new top bush too, new oil and re-fitted to the bike (2002 FZS). They feel a lot better and I have done a couple of 40 milers since the re-build but am now noticing some very light oil residue on the stanchions and lines of oil at the top end of the fork travel. I had expected the high tide marks but not the very thin coating on the stanchions? My XJR stanchions are bone dry. Any tips / advice? I am learning the ropes so to speak at motorcycle maintenance so it is very possible that I could have done something wrong

its usually my fault  (photos taken but were not showing the fault very good, so did not upload them)

TIA
