  new to this?
Posted by: chaz - 14-03-12, 09:19 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (3)

hi, just reg with this site, found it cos me front sprocket nut came off today, I was on my way to Squires cafe.

Luckily no damage and within pushing distance of my sisters house.

Now I need a new nut and lock washer, it's an 05 fz6n reg.06, it was serviced by yamaha at 600miles and just over a year which took it to the end of its 2 years warranty, then I did the service myself.

have I any chance of getting the parts for nowt?

  Fzs 600 high mileage ?
Posted by: danyboy - 14-03-12, 06:30 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

Hi to all,i have been trying to get a 2000 fzs 600 working that had stood outside in a garden for three years, open to the elements. After cleaning the carbs, changing the plugs + new battery & putting another non rusty petrol tank on it,it now starts, the mileage on the clock,is over 117,000,does this sound right for a year 2000 bike,or is it possible the clocks may have gone nuts from sitting outside in the damp.Any advice would be great

Hello to all

Got delivery of my new bike being a FZ1 last week.  Traded in my XJ6 for a bigger bike, also it was one of those deals you just cannot refuse.

One week old and had the 600 mile service done yesterday.  Still waiting for my MIVV exhaust to be delivered, damn the postal service is slow, well to slow for my patience  :lol

Front and rear sprockets are misalignment!
Posted by: nrobert - 14-03-12, 03:16 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

Hi
I got a  600 99 year model, for about 4 years. I need to change the chain and sprockets. The old chain did not last very long (DID O-ring chain). I changed the front sprocket, put a new nut ( nut and new washer and ). my new chain `t  so I mount the rear wheel, because I need to move bike from the middle of my garage, and then noticed that the front and rear sprocket are  misalignment like on the diagram, only in my case rear sprocket is moved to the the swing arm!:
Front and rear sprocket are not in line.Rear sprocket escapes to the outside for the entire thickness of front sprocket.I have checked everything on the rear wheel, all the spacers and  according to the manual.
I notice that the front sprocket was really eaten on the inside.

Do any of you have checked this, or is it just another factory error?  maybe this is somehow connected with the problem of losing of the front sprocket and washer?

When the chain on the engine in it is hard to see but now as clear as day.
Can someone check on this on your .

Thank You
