  My optimate's been PAT tested!
Posted by: alan sherman - 15-03-12, 12:17 PM - Forum: General - Replies (13)

Bought a battery and optimate - delivered to work as the bike with flat battery is there.  Bunged it on charge last night under my desk (bit cheeky but hey-ho).  Come in today and it's had a sticker applied to it - they've only been around the office overnight testing all the electrical stuff to make sure that it is 'safe'.  Good for optimate - but you have to question the test as there is a 12V battery with terminals you could put your hand across!

Been a Fazer owner for several years and think Fazers are great, bikes getting on a bit now and needs some spares, thought I would join the club to get info and ideas of the best places to shop for spares and find out what the clubs about. Les

  Simples?

I'm thinking of fitting a cig lighter socket under my seat, I'm no sparky but surely its not as simple as wiring a socket (with an in-line fuse) directly across the battery terminals?

  Dog bones
Posted by: Ghoti - 14-03-12, 10:54 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (12)

Just cleared out the shed and found 3 sets of dog bones of different sizes.

I know 1 jacks the back up but not sure about the other 2. Guess 1 is standard and one changes ride height, but don't know which way.

Measurements between holes are roughly 130mm, 126mm and 121mm.

Can anyone please advise on which does what to ride heights so I can advertise them appropriately.

Found a thread on the old forum here http://fazerowners.yuku.com/topic/8503#.T2EO3la0O9o but all the links seem to be dead. Anyone got any more info or better pics.

  Swing Arm Bearings
Posted by: Jezzer - 14-03-12, 10:18 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

Hello, new fazer owner (and biker) question, if I replace the chain / sprockets do I need to replace the swing arm bearing when I remove it or can I just re-grease them?
Bike is a 2002 with 3500 miles on it, chain has surface rust, been stood for ages and might need renewing, want to understand how much work and cost is involved.

Thanks
Jez

  Blood Bikes
Posted by: Instructorman - 14-03-12, 09:50 PM - Forum: General - Replies (10)

The Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes is forced to meet rising fuel prices year on year. NABB's single biggest running cost is fuel.
NABB not only save the NHS considerable monies, they provide a much needed out of hours medical essentials courier service, free of charge - entirely run by volunteers and charitable donations.

Allowing NABB member groups to recoup fuel duty would be of major benefit and allow NABB to expand it's vital service operations.
We call on the government to have an urgent review of this situation and in doing so we call on the government to return in the form of grants to NABB member groups all the future fuel duty which the Treasury collects from them.
