Fazer running issues |

I've noticed that when I start my FZS1000 up from cold the cooling fan runs whilst the bike is stood idling. As soon as 1st gear is selected the cooling fan stops. I've not done any fault finding yet but wondered if this is a common fault on these bikes or if anyone has any advice on how to cure it.
Also when stood at junctions with the bike in gear it feels like it's trying to creep forward, I suspect that this is clutch drag probably due to the oil needing changing but as it's done 36k it could be the clutch plates I suppose. It does seem to be quite hard to change down from 5th to 4th to 3rd gears as well. The chain is in good condition and correctly tensioned so I don't think it's this but I wonder if it could be the cush drive?
Finally, does anyone know where I can get the fairing graphics for my 2003 yellow FZ1000S?
Thanks in anticipation for any help.
Steve.

Hi Guys need your help once again , just servicing my fazer 1000 thought I would start with the coolant change as seems straight forward enough, removed coolant drain bolt drained coolant no problem. When it comes to the reservoir the Haynes manual states that's I either detach the over flow hose from the radiator filler neck and draw it out from the bike and placing it lower than the reservoir or remove the reservoir itself which looks time consuming. Anybody changed their coolant recently and come up with a different way ???
many thanks for your help

Bike ticks on cold starts, doesnt happen on every cold start just now and again? Milage is 16000
Do the valves need doing? No differences to power etc and sounds normal once warmed.

Sticky tyre wax! I had to scrap it. |

Just a warning. Check if there is still wax in your tyres despite you have ride it previously!
Few days ago had I installed a new 170/60 Diablo Rosso tyre, same model as the front, I have bought several Diablos before too. Today was the first day I could have fun with the bike, it is a warm day here in Spain too.
But unlike the previous tyres this one had a layer of solid wax that did not go with heat, so the chicken strips kept slippery no matter I had riden it for 100km. I was lucky it wasn't an emergency maneuver when it slipped, just me fooling around trying to remove the chicken strips.
I have removed a lot of wax with a knife. I have also checked the front tyre chicken strips and there was no wax, it went by itself.

Hi guys just looking a bit of advice on my new fzs600 2002 with 6.5k miles. Just bought it but was going to change the oil and filters.
What oil and filters do you recommend? I don't mind spending a bit more for a better product if it is worth it and good for the bike.
Also have you any other suggestions on what to check/change. Everything else seems to be in great nick...chain etc
Cheers
Chris

Hi all in the land of FOC! Picked up a Gen 1 Fazer 1000 about 3 weeks ago, 2001 bike with a whopping 5800 miles on the clock :lol , its been around 5 years since I have owned a production bike as my last 2 bikes I have built myself. Its a great feeling being back on a comfortable, quick bike that does what it says on the proverbial tin. Have some questions with regards to suspension as I gather that that is a hot topic, so I'll have a look round and see if I can get some answers?
Hope your all well?
cheers for now.
