  deja vu !
Posted by: ade the blade - 27-03-12, 07:33 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (70)

ok guys and gals, i have been reading the stuttering thread very closely and thought it time to ask for your help with my partners 600. if it was mine then i could just be patient and tinker whenever but its the bosses, so the clocks ticking Wink

ok very quick rundown on prob....bike starts on the button ( even cold ) , ticks over lovely. give it a good handful and it bogs and i mean bogs down so bad until throttle is released. tried a road test, bike will not under any circumstances lift above 4000 rpm giving a top speed at present of 50 mph...........just over scooter territory :eek . this is even gently easing the throttle open, no hope in hell of whacking it open. there is a definite stutter when throttle is eased open and hand is placed near end pipe. ok enough of symptoms for now quick rundown on what i have checked, replaced ect. bear with me. cheers Wink
fuel system........new clean (?) fuel in tank. petcock filter clean. all fuel lines cleaned and compressed air blown through. new fuel filter. fuel pump tested and working correctly. carbs dismantled and cleaned thoroughly 4,yes,4 times. all spotless and adjusted correctly. ( 2 turns on pilot ) even tried those set at 3 turns out and up to 1 turn out. float heights all set in spec. no difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ignition.......tested right from pick up coil to spark plugs with multimeter. ( all resistance readings in coils (primary and secondary) circuits within spec). fitted new plugs. and plug caps. everything in theory is fine. even checked valves in desperation ( well inside spec only 11500 on clock ( 2000 bike ).
finally as last resort, even ran a seperate fuel supply from a bottle directly to carb rail ( bypassing pump and even filter ). still no difference whatsoever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so its over to you fellas for input pretty please.all suggestions greatfully received. already got the ak47 and sidewinders ready so dont include those !! thanks chaps. cheers Ade.......will try and get a vid up at some point. ( fingers crossed )

Hello again, I have finally got around to registering on the new website. I still have my fazer 600 and will be checking out the rideout section to hopefully meet up with some old faces and meet some new ones too.
I am in Nottingham and if anyone is interested in a run out anytime let me know ( i have a couple of decent local routes).
Cheers

Posted by: FazerJett - 27-03-12, 04:38 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Hello All

Long time - no speak.

My wife has just cried off ("ill"), so I've got a spare ticket for Jake Bugg tonight. It's a sold out gig at the Old Queens Head in Islington. Only seven quid!

Any takers?

  Scotland...in august
Posted by: phil on a fazer - 27-03-12, 03:37 PM - Forum: General - Replies (24)

I'm thinking of heading up to the north coast of Scotland in August.

Now..I've always understood August to be a bad time to visit Scotland.

Generally in August the UK is quite wet but the main problem i understand  is the midges!  :eek

am i right?

  Problem starting on frosty mornings?
Posted by: chunk166 - 27-03-12, 08:55 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

Ok, this has happened 3 times now! On cold, frosty mornings my bike will not turn over & all the clock readings go back to zero except the mileage!, It's like the battery is knackered? but if i bump start it & run it for 5 mins, turn it off & leave it for 10 mins it will start like its ok?
Have you Guy 'n' Girls got any suggestions, should i just buy a new battery as i've not seen this happen on other bikes??

Cheers

  Does size matter ?
Posted by: Looney tune - 27-03-12, 07:29 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

Hi peeps, I need new tyres on my FZ1 and was wondering what size of rear tyre you run on yours. Do you run a 190/50 or a 190/55 ?

Many thanks

  Exup cable question
Posted by: solorider - 27-03-12, 01:15 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

As some nice last owner disconnected the cables I have to replace them as they were frayed,so the question is does the top cable go to the top of the motor and top of the exup valve? Or do they cross over?
