Should I attempt a 4 spanner job? |

Been riding 10 years; before that never knew one end of a spanner from a screwdriver. But over the years have slowly picked things up and now have a fairly respectable set of tools and can confidently perform a 3 spanner job (balancing carbs).
So I'm thinking of replacing the cylinder head with a new one, which Haynes describes as 4 spanners. Was reading it in bed last night and although it looks long winded, and will definitely take me some time, none of the steps looks tooo difficult.
Has anyone done this and got any tips?

Hi - just got a Fazer 1000, Gen 1 in black. 9000 miles and clean as a whistle.
Before that I had a ZX9R but I'm getting too old for pure sports bikes now, too uncomfy. I also had a BMW R1100 RS which I can best describe as a mistake! Vibey heavy slug :'( . Previously CBR600FM, TTR250, GPz1100, XJ650, RG250, RD250DX and 3 x 350LC's..
I'm based down in Poole.
Anyway, trying to figure out which belly pan to get.. it screams out for one!
Has anyone got any decent pics of their bellypans to compare? Any comments on fitting and quality?
I'm looking for plain black (not carbon) to match the bodywork..
Cheers

Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a set of engine bars to fit my 2001 FZS600, would ideally like the genuine Yamaha upper guards in chrome but will consider anything complete with fittings?
Thanks!

Im doing a 100k Nightrider event in London in June for FNF Families Need Fathers who help fathers, mothers and grand parents to see the children. They have been very helpful over the years and offered support advice and McKenzies for court and Im doing this event as a way of saying thank you.
If you would like to sponsor me the Just Giving website is http://www.justgiving.com/dadonabikeforthekids
I havent seen my 2 children in 4 years these guys helped me get through it, too many children nowadays do not get to see both parents.
Thanks

Hi all, had a nice ride out yesterday but noticed my bite point was near enough at the end of travel when letting it out. i adjusted on the engine side and then the cable but hasn't helped much.
I did notice the plain plates are rather close but unsure what the gap should be.
also when you depress the clutch lever (with engine off) and look through the oil fill hole the 1st set of plain plates and friction plates separate from the others.. is this correct? any other foccers able to check theres and let me know if theirs does the same?
the clutch does not feel as though it slips but i am worried because i am doing a tour of Ireland in May so i want it right before i go.
Many thanks,
