  Poor running in the wet?
Posted by: chunk166 - 11-04-12, 02:50 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Just been out for a ride,i got caught up in a bit of heavy shower & my bike started to play up! it was struggling to accelerate in any gear, even on tickover it was a bit erratic. Whats around the front of the bike that would cause that,i'm not sure if it was the coils as there tucked up under the tank! Advice would be very grateful  :think :think :think

  Fuel tank breather hose leak
Posted by: binarystarr - 11-04-12, 01:35 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (8)

Hi all

Just noticed fuel is dripping from the fuel tank breather hose.

Any ideas as to what could be causing that?

clicking pump after carb rubber change?
Posted by: robbie - 11-04-12, 11:56 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

just wondered if someone could point me in the right direction. I have fitted new rubbers to the carbs(engine side) and a new fuel filter as my bike  was stopping at the lights and surging at times. after refitting the carbs i noticed two pipes coming from the rear of the carb bank which fit to a swivel type joint looks like a bar which runs the length of the carbs on the air box side. i wondered if these were breathers so tried starting the bike and when the ignition is turned on the bike tries to fire but the fuel pump continually clicks. obviously from my  description i'm a novice mechanic  so you will have to make it simple. Thanks rob

  Are you a perfectionist?
Posted by: alan sherman - 11-04-12, 10:47 AM - Forum: General - Replies (20)

I was just wondering whether motorcyclists have a tendency for perfectionism.  I do (as my builders keep finding out) and I thought that riding a moto needs things to be done 'right' otherwise you may die.  Biking is an extreme form of control freakiness in a way!

The opposite view would seem to be complete disregard for life / details.  It might be interesting to see whether FOCers are at these extremes or just somewhere in between.

This is probably a bit late but I've been busy.

Fazer Line Up.
In the past we've had some nice line ups usualy organised by either Trev (Polorbear) or me (KK). Last year was a bit of a shambles mainly because I got there a bit late and others had parked left right and centre and I couldn't be arsed to go round chasing people, and we certainly felt the wrath of Trev... Even though he was in Spain.

So lets make a bit of an effort this year because it does look good in the photos and I'm sure you'll agree. Be prepared to move your bikes - please.

I don't know if Paul has told the Museum we're coming (I hope you have hint hint) so hopefully they'll have a car park set aside for us. If there is no car park I'll see if I can get permission to put bikes on the front concorse as I have done in the past.

C U all there. Shiney side up. And I'm bringing one Mars bar for me.

Noticed there are a few new Scottish/white settler  Wink  members on here now.
Was thinking about a wee meet for fish suppers somewhere for old and new members that is handy for an afterwork run/meet/head home.

Any thoughts on this or possible meeting place ?

Cheers
Russ
