got the thou MOT'd today as it ran out 2 weeks ago and i'd forgot :o
It passed, but under advisory information they put;
"0001 rear brake disc slightly worn (3.2.A11)
002 Rear roller test indicates slight brake fluctuation of brake effort [3.3.Ald]"
the bike is an 04 with 30K on the clock. Ive always thought the back brake wasnt brillant, tiny tiny bit better after i'd put on braided lines. I keep my calipers/pistons clean and rubber greased and to be honest i've always thought it wasnt brillant but new pads would help.
any way anyone else had this or any advice on what to do next.
cheers

This afternoon after a spirited ride we stopped for a few minutes before starting the engine again (FZ6S2) and the temperature warning light came on and the temperature was 116degC.
Luckily the temperature went back to its normal 85-90 straight away as soon as I got going again but I have noticed if I am stuck in traffic on a hot day that it can rise to >105 and the fan doesnt come on- what temperature should the thermostat cut the fan in and does it/ should it also run off the battery so that it will cool the engine with the ingnition off?
Cheers

I am thinking of getting some nice shiny bar ends but I am worried that lighter ones may cause unacceptable vibes.
Any thoughts or experiences out there before I throw me hard earned away?
Edit: I realise I can take mine off and give it a go without, which I will do, but I still am interested in peeps' onions.

Hi all,
Been out this afternoon & on the way back I opened the bike up on the bypass, came to the roundabout and the bike felt rough & sounded like a Subaru (honestly). Limped home the last couple of miles with the bike being rough at low revs - but still idling at the lights etc. I am automatically assuming that one of the jets has picked up something & is now blocked.
Back home the bike will idle ok - albeit roughly, but when I ride it down the lane it lurches forward at times, so the required u turn become I bit dicey.
I have balanced the carbs & they are equal but cylinder 1 is a little eratic.
Can any one confirm that the problem sounds like a blocked jet as I never taken a carburettor apart, or could it be something else.
Is checking & cleaning :'( :'( the jets difficult?
Cheers all.

Any of you fine chaps out there found an easy, cheap way to remove rust from bolt heads, footrest, brackets etc? My 600's looking a bit sad in a few places from the daily commute! :'(
