as you may know i have recently sold my fazer and bought an R1and had the same problem with my fazer, i have posted my question on 2 r1 based forums but they are either full of numptys or just dont like me lol, here goes,,,,, i have adjusted the exup as per pats site and its set perfect always returns to dead centre after i have dont a ignition recycle BUT when the engine is running the vale looks like it is open way too much, lets say 5 to 12 instead of maybe 10 to 12 and when i rev the bike it doesnt rotate how it should, if i move the exup by hand and do the ignition its back to centre how it should, any help would be great coz i know you are a great bunch of chaps on here. also does the tps have any bearing on what the exup does as i have set it to 5 spot on and today adjusted it with engine running at 3800 and moved it to get the highest revs which was 4500 and all this has made no change, sorry and i get no error codes for either exup or tps
cheers Mick

OK, please feel free to take the p1ss if I'm being blonde here, but....
I was just trying to work out my rough fuel efficiency, so I looked on this site and saw that my bike should have a 20 litre tank. It's a mk1, registered on an 02 plate, so I'm guessing one of the last box-eye ones. According to a page on this forum about changes to models, means I've got a 20 litre tank.
This go me thinking..... I always fill up a few miles after the petrol light comes on (usually about 20 ish). I fill up and it normally costs me about £21 on todays prices so about 15 litres, but a 20 litre tank should cost £28, that's quite a bit of difference.
Is it that the petrol light is set to come on when you efectively have a quarter of the tank left? Seems a lot to me.

Are the foot pegs even adjustable? Tried looking but it doesn't seem like it. I've noticed that since I adjusted the rear suspension (went from softest to hardest - thank you previous owner :rolleyes ) and now my left leg feels very cramped and squished. I do have quite large legs unfortunately...as well as stomach but thats a different matter entirely :lol

Waterproof boots, anybody got any?! |

After trashing my old boots last year in a spill, I thought I'd treat myself to a nice pair of waterproof touring boots and the ones that came out at the top of my budget were the rather aptly named Alpinestar Hydro Sport Drystar.
With a name like that, how could I possibly go wrong! (all boxes ticked...)
Currently on my second pair, first pair went back quite quickly as they leaked straight away so were replaced under warranty. Second pair let go this week in a torrential downpour on the way to work.
Anyone got any suggestions for boots that do what they say on the advertising? Couldn't get on with Altbergs (the first choice) as they were too narrow in the gusset and didn't want to wait 4 months for a made to measure pair.
