I have a Gen 1 Fazer 1000 42,000 miles has an Ivans tuning Kit and generally very smooth but it bogs down completely after you get to 7,000 rpm in every gear and it staggers up the rest of the rev clock i had a look at the ex-up valve at weekend one felt tight a little give each way the top wire and the bottom wire was a lot looser could that be the issue????????/

ok this is getting boring now !
another battery going in the bin
I wonder if its possible sencible or just plain stupid but can I fit a second standard battey under the seat ?
theres plenty of room ?
has this been thought of before done before ?
I dont have an power at my gargae so I cant use a optimate
I did have a car battery , but I can never remmber to plug it in , I do start the bike and warm it up but not enough by the signs of it !
ok so if this is a workable idea what is the wiring needed ?
can I simply run on wires from both negative and positive terminals? do I need anything on the wires? fuses ?
also will the alternator be able to charge both ?
or is this simply a pipe dream that doesnt hold water and will end up with me owning a pile of molten scrap aluminum steel and burnt plastic ?

After reading Pitternators tale of woe and subsiquent descriptions of his suspension behavior I was trying to understand mine yesterday.
My current conclusions are that the front seems to feel like it's jarring my arms when hitting a bump and the rear seems to ride a bump ok but tries to throw me out of the saddle a little after the initial bump.
When giving it the beans over a particulaly bumpy stretch the steering was everywhere and I wasn't in control. I was being thrown about all over the place and had to back off pretty quick befor being possibly thrown off.
I know static sag is my first port of call. I did stiffen the preload, both front and rear when I got the bike, so thats not standard.
What measurement of sag should I be aiming for and where should I start adjusting for my above findings?

3rd puncture in 6 months! |

I've just suffered my 3rd puncture in 6 months and it's beginning to piss me off now! It's my second new rear tyre on the Fazer and the tyre's only done 400 miles. The previous tyre had only done 2000 miles and had been repaired once already so I got it changed to be on the safe side.
My question is: Is there a solution to a recurring expensive problem like this (other than commuting to work using the underground!!) such as using inner tubes within the tyres or are there any tyres which are more robust to punctures than others?
Also - how safe are repaired tyres (provided that the puncture is central on the tread) and will it affect the maximum speed on the tyre?
