I fancy the idea of a universal gear indicator for my Fazer.They are about £17ish on ebay.

Has anyone bought one and how easy are they to fit and do they work well.

I have only owned my Fazer a couple of months and it has rained for most of that time , so when I got up to a bright sunny day the plan was a bit of bike maintenance and then out for a good long ride in the hills - but alas not to be !


I have had a slight fuel leak which I assumed was something to do with overfilling the tank last time I fuelled up ( thought it was an overflow pipe thing.I lifted the tank to check to air filter and dry off the over flow only to find the bottom of the tank has been very badly repaired. After a bit of light sanding the bottom of the tank looked like a lump of Swiss cheese.
The tank was full of rust and quite frankly past repair - after a trawl on the net I have purchased a replacement tank - unfortunately a YELLOW one!


I am still on the look out for a black tank if anyone has on.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a more comfortable seat on the Fazer, or is it just me?

I find its fine for typical journeys, but longer ones that get to an hour and a half plus and my arse is about prepared to make me walk the rest of the journey...

Not sure if it is really relevant, but I have a '99 model so no front pre-load and I've had the rear on both the softest and hardest settings with no real difference.

Went to start the bike today and it turned over once then the starter relay started buzzing. Connected on an intelligent charger and after 10 minutes the charger says the battery is fully charged!


I'll leave her on charge over night but it's looking like the battery might be goosed. :'(


Anyone got any recommendations on a good quality battery at a reasonable price? I don't even want to ask how much Yamaha want for e newun  :eek

Like it says in the title am after front end parts forks, clocks, h/light bracket, fairing. Am hoping some of you guys can help, may even consider foxeye 600 parts (obviously not forks or clocks)

hello people i have'nt been on here since i had my last 1000 about 5 years ago but am about to go back to a fazer 1000 gen 1 , i bought a led rear light for my last fazer of a guy who made them does anybody know who it might have been or where to get one ,it was just tail light not indicators incorperated ,cheers
