  Fazer 1000 goodies for sale
Posted by: Andy R - 14-10-12, 10:27 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (12)

I've taken most of the extras off my thou and will sell them separately....here goes
Givi 'Monokey' rack , very little use, excellent condition £50 + postage
[Image: Givismall.jpg]

Metallic red belly pan, excellent condition, complete with all fittings. Has been on the bike for less than 3000 dry miles. £90 + postage
[Image: BellyPansmall.jpg]

Micron carbon fibre oval road legal can (suits Ivan's slip-on kit very well). Baffle could easily be removed by drilling out pop rivet. Has been on the bike for less than 3000 dry miles. Excellent condition £110 + postage
[Image: Micronsmall.jpg]

MRA Vario with adjustable spoiler, not a mark on it. I've never fitted it to my bike. Some may say the best screen for the Fazer. £65 + postage
[Image: Screensmall.jpg]

Red Fox hugger, carbon effect, excellent condition, on the bike for only 3000 miles. £40 + postage

Items can also be collected from Notts / Derby area....close to M1 J25.
Cheers
Andy

  My best MPG
Posted by: MadDogMcQ - 14-10-12, 06:24 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (17)

Last time I tanked up, I decided to see how much I could get out of the old girl by riding more sedately. I'm not talking about purposely riding for 150 miles on a motorway at 56 mph - that would be pointless. I'm talking about typical rideouts but with sensible takeoffs, smooth acceleration and sticking rigorously to the speed limits.

150 odd miles later, I managed 47mpg. My worst was 36.7mpg,  so not what you'd call a dramatic difference, but over time it'll add up. Will I stick to the new "eco" riding style - maybe!

  Does anyone know .....

If it's possible to change the fairing on a 2005 1000, to make it a naked bike ?
What I really like is the look of the Fazer 800, and was wondering if the headlight unit would fit ( if I could get my hands on one )
Failing that anybody fancy px'ing a naked 8 for my 1000 ?

  Brake judder in the wet?
Posted by: markaboot - 14-10-12, 01:13 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

I was riding the other night in fairly heavy rain in a 30 zone. As I pulled up to a roundabout the last 4 or 5 meters I got what I assume was brake judder. It felt like I lost a bit of braking too and had to squeeze harder.
It only happened once and the bike was fine on the way home but its a little unnerving as I have never experienced it before. The last thing I want to do is go out on a Sunday ride and find I don't have brakes when I really need them.

Has anyone else had this before?
Anything I should be checking?

Thanks

  screen for tall rider
Posted by: green_rider - 14-10-12, 10:35 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (10)

Good morning all,
Took the bike on a fairly long ride yesterday, and ive realised that the screen is placing the wind straight on to my chest and head. If I duck down it gets a lot better. With a 6'3 frame, what screen would you recommend to raise the wind profile?

wanted: FZS 1000 seat or seat base
Posted by: gasmenace - 14-10-12, 08:56 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

I want to get a rebuilt comfy seat for my 02 plate, but I want to keep the original.

Does anyone have a spare seat lying around? Condition of cover and filling immaterial, as it will all be getting replaced.

email gasmenace(at)gmail(dot)com

Thanks

Colin
