Keeping Visor Clear in Rain - Skippernick - 13-10-12

Is there a product to help rain run off your visor?

a bit cheaper on a popular auction site, :lol

Re: Keeping Visor Clear in Rain - Tiberius Onklevaart - 13-10-12

I bought a bottle of ghost wipe and it cost me 13 quid at the time.

"Whit?" I said

But that was about 4 years ago and still 3 quart of a bottle left. And that's all through Scottish winters and summers. Good stuff. Gives you a wee buzz as well if yer that way inclined. Have some aspirin ready tho

Re: Keeping Visor Clear in Rain - chaz - 14-10-12

try 70mph and turn head 90 degrees to the left then to the right (quickly) that clears it but not much use in town, lol.

Re: Keeping Visor Clear in Rain - dolau - 14-10-12

Bob Heath visor spray on the inside sure works- I was out this morning in freezi9ng fog and icey roads and not a hint of steamed up visor.

Unfortunately, my Nitro visor leaks water down behind when it rains and that instantly washes the Bob Heath stuff off in stripes

Now I have fixed the fog maybe I will tape up the visor when it rains

Re: Keeping Visor Clear in Rain - Agent Picolax - 14-10-12

I use this stuff after it was recommended to me by fellow foccer Snooky a few years ago, does exactly what it says on the tin and one tin lasts ages  Smile

Re: Keeping Visor Clear in Rain - Grahamm - 15-10-12

I've been using Nikwax Visor Proof for a while now and it works well, however I've found that its efficiency starts to drop off after a couple of hours and needs to be reapplied.

Also it doesn't seem to work so well on the sort of fine spray you get in mist or when vehicles are kicking up water behind them meaning you have to wipe the spray off with your hand and that also seems to remove the Visor Proof Sad

It says it's for "glass surfaces"... I've never seen (nor would I like to use) a glass visor!! Smile

Re: Keeping Visor Clear in Rain - bigsteve - 15-10-12

I use Rainx rain repellent after hearing it mentioned on Motogp

Re: Keeping Visor Clear in Rain - pointer2null - 18-10-12

Bin liner - keeps it 100% rain free. Smile

Rainx was found by one mag to damage the anti-scratch coating.

Re: Keeping Visor Clear in Rain - bigsteve - 18-10-12

Not damaged mine over the last 4 years  :rolleyes

Re: Keeping Visor Clear in Rain - pointer2null - 18-10-12

will give it ago and see what happens then.

Re: Keeping Visor Clear in Rain - bigsteve - 18-10-12

I dont use all in one cleaner and repellent  I use ( if you can find it ) rain-x foaming glass cleaner  then rain-x repellent

ok got odd little scratch on my visor but after 4 years riding all year around i cant complain

Re: Keeping Visor Clear in Rain - Arfa - 19-10-12

I've been using Raincoat, yet another brand of water repellent! Seems to do the job, so long as you going at a reasonable speed 30-40mph +  Anything less and the water doesn't get blown off. Similarly, it doesn't help i f it not really raining much, but road is wet and there's a lot of spray from other cars etc.  Needs recoating quite often (ever week or so), but each sachet in the box has enough for about 3-4 applications.
