  Hi, New Member from Berkshire
Posted by: DeeDub - 23-10-12, 11:08 AM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (15)

I have owned my 2000 FZS600 since 2003. I tour in France on it and have done a few camping tours in the UK. The bike is pretty standard apart from a scottoiler, clear indicator lenses, crash bars, Bagster Tank Bag and a Venturi back pack kit. My headlights are also wired up so that both are 'On' together. Hoping to swap info about great roads that need to be ridden, the attached photo is of my bike loaded for a recent camping trip to North Wales in September. Cheers

  Armoured vests for under jackets
Posted by: DanielT - 23-10-12, 10:13 AM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

I've been looking at back protectors which led me on to full upper body vests. Like the Dainese wave pro. Basically a mesh vest with all the armour attached and you wear any jacket over it (meaning leather or textile not just pyjamas!)

I can see many pros and cons:

Pro:
The armour is level 2 so an entry to mid range jacket would be ok and save buying top of range summer AND winter gear.

Armour would stay in place unlike in a off the peg jacket.

Cons:
can't just take jacket off when you're in town/pub etc.

Not sure if it looks over the top. Dark Knight looks cool, but would you walk round in public like it?

So, what do you think? Good or bad?

They will be linear springs made by people who know what they're doing.

RST Kevlar jeans 32" waist, brand new with tags, £50 posted
Posted by: papercutout - 22-10-12, 08:36 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (9)

The title really sums it up! I've basically ended up with these black wax finish RST kevlar lined jeans with a 32" waist, and I'm a 28" waist, so own a pair in 30" too, which I wear. The 32's would benefit someone else, so I'm letting them go for a pretty good saving on the retail price! I don't think you'll find them sub £85 ANYWHERE (except 2nd hand, and these, as you can see, are brand new).

They come with the knee armour, as standard.

And I've been riding with the 30" waist pair for a while, worn them at work, day in, day out. They are COMFY, and don't have any annoying stitching lines across the legs, but still have the standard kevlar lining. As above, they're the black WAX finish. Although they're not gay and shiny or anything.

Oh, and they come from a clean, neutral smelling house. I got a pair of trousers the other day that STANK of some nasty sweet perfume thing. These don't. That and they've been in the plastic wrapping and bag since I bought them.

If you want any more photos, just ask, but this should cover it! £55 posted 1st class.

  652 fatties
Posted by: ogri48 - 22-10-12, 08:27 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - No Replies

anybody tried 652 bend fatbars?
ive acquired a set from a new ktm, found some old converter risers (ive had kicking about for over ten years!), and some stainless bar ends i can take down on me lathe to fit.
really want 758s, but i love the look of the fatties just think they may be a bit more sporty than comfy (my lairy days are long gone lol), but will prolly try em one evening this week.
had fatbar ultra lows on my cb1300 for 5 years and 17000miles, loved them, but not sure if these are the same.

Looking in E bay and came across this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/full-length-hy...1c2c59908b

Now is it only me, but the line about he wants back what he paid for it, I m thinking it looks as if its been kept outside and left to go rusty and he thinks the next buyer should pay him what he paid for it.

Anyone changed the pegs -Gen 1
Posted by: JayB - 22-10-12, 12:37 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (13)

Been thinking of putting some solid pegs on the bike, mainly as it is what I am used to and it will give more feel and also a bit more legroom to boot, but also the rubbers are a bit tatty on mine and I will be removing the back pegs for the time being too.

Anyone know if R1 footpegs go on OK or if they need spacing?
