  valve clearance question (again!)
Posted by: scottyboy2203 - 30-10-12, 10:37 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (30)

Hi all, Just check my valve clearances (its bloody freezing out!) and exhaust are all at 0.2mm whilst intake varies from 0.076-0.1mm. From memory Intake should be 0.11-0.2mm and exhaust 0.21-0.3mm, so what affect will my clearances have if left unchanged (it's a real ballache)?

On a side note, whilst the cam cover was off I noticed that the cam chain is continuously held tight against the chain guide on the top of the engine (between intake and exhaust sprockets), is this normal?

Thanks!

Got pictures from the death of my last fazer a few months ago... Thankfully, everyone was ok and I have a new one now - a year younger with a few thousand miles less on the clock.

Could have been so much worse!

  Modular helmets
Posted by: fireblake - 30-10-12, 07:28 PM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

Hi all,
I'm looking at getting a modular/flip helmet and was wondering what are your thoughts on designs, weights, ease of use with the flip front, ease of getting the visor off?
I'd prefer one with an internal sun visor and with pin lock on the main visor?

Cheers for any opinions?

Cheers.

  Free £5 on ebay
Posted by: imax - 30-10-12, 02:59 PM - Forum: General - Replies (5)

EDIT - Offer is available for selected ebay users. Please check your emails to confirm if it applies to you before commiting to a purchase

Just received an email from ebay (and made a purchase, so I know it works)

Make a paypal purchase via the ebay app on your smartphone, between now and 12 November 2012, enter code couponapp2 and receive a £5 discount off the price (excludes p&p)

No minimum spend - I bought an item for £5.99 with free p&p and paid just the 99p

I know someone posted a few weeks ago about a similar offer via the main website, but the time limit was very close to expiring and a number of foccers missed out, hopefully a few more can take advantage of this one Smile

Happy shopping!

  End of an era
Posted by: Kosmic Kartman - 30-10-12, 11:23 AM - Forum: General - Replies (12)

After a decade of free complimentry bike MOT's I finaly had to pay for one on Saturday.  :'( And I got an advisory, which I knew I'd get, for the front tyre.

The tester was very clued up about the mods done, and went over the bike 'with a fine tooth comb' checking the integrity of every mod. Probably the most thorough MOT the bike has had... Not to take anything away from my old mate who used to do them. and knew the bikes' history.

  Pilot road 1s
Posted by: NotAnotherHill - 29-10-12, 04:15 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

Have been using PilotRoad 2s for last 18 months but I've seen Pilot Road 1s at about £50 cheaper per pair. Has anyone used them? Wouldn't mind knowing how they compare in terms of grip and wear rates to Pilot 2s. I get about 7000 miles out of 2s and am going through 2 sets a year so I am looking to save a bit of cash if possible.
