  25000mile valve check.

Asked my local main dealer cost of this & was told approx £300! That was the motivation for me to do it myself and it wasnt difficult-just time-consuming and the AIS system was fiddly to remove/refit. I can see why people remove it altogether now! It was a good chance to check condition of all hoses, jubilee clips, rad etc. Cost of job/ £4-36 for new oil pump cover gasket and slight backache from leaning over & under bike. Sorted :lol

  Hi, I'm a christian. I protect paedophiles.

Hot from the presses in the Vatican. In reply to the proposed demotion of J. Saville from his papal knighthood.

"As there does not exist any permanent official list of persons who have received papal honours in the past, it is not possible to strike anyone off a list that does not exist.
"The names of recipients of papal honours do not appear in the Pontifical Year Book and the honour expires with the death of the individual.

Roughly translated:- ''We've decided to cop out from moral guidence and responsibility and we are shite at setting an example''.
We are lectured non-stop that christianity is the bedrock of social morality. Pray, where is the commandment that we protect our children?
If you pass a church tomorrow morning, spit on a christian for me.
Cheers.

  Missing /lumpy /not starting
Posted by: bobw078 - 27-10-12, 07:44 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

Not been on here for a while...but it's the first place I think off when I have a fazed problem.

Heading out for a run a couple of days ago and the bike dies, doing 60mph and everything shuts down /stalls. Coast to the side and it'll not start. Give it a few minutes of trying, followed by a big backfire and away she goes again.

Now sometimes it'll start and other times it will not. Move it a few feet and away it goes.

Also when it starts up at first it is very lumpy and then cuts out.

Had new plugs about 1000 miles ago so not sure if I've put the wrong ones in....09 Iridium plugs

Any ideas / thoughts would be great.
Bob

Got an oil leak and there is some pink stuff of my bike
Posted by: xlewisbdx - 27-10-12, 04:58 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (16)

OK so I noticed today I had a slight oil leak coming from the sump plug. No big deal I just need a new crush washer.

EDIT:  Just to point out the oil leak is not from the sump plug it's from higher up. Any suggestions as to what it could be??

What I wanted to know is what is all this pink stuff on my engine? I have only just noticed it when I noticed the oil leak and wanted to know if it had anything to do with the oil leak.

FAZER 1000 GEN 1 OHLINS REAR SHOCK ABSORBER....NOW WITH PHOTOS
Posted by: Andy R - 27-10-12, 03:10 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (3)

Ohlins rear shock with remote hydraulic preload adjuster for sale. It is spotless and been on the bike for 3000 dry miles. It transformed the handling of the bike (I also had K-Tech fork conversion). Still have the original box.
I spoke to K-Tech a couple of weeks ago and I was told they are now in the region of £850+VAT.
Grab yourself a bargain......serious offers please.
