Here goes,i saw a advert for a cb1 1990 for £1000 or swap for 125. I have a YBR 125 2009 with 14k on the clock (the cb has 30k on).I have been told the cb is in very very good condition,my ybr is in good condition i know i could get £1100 for mine, but do you guys think it is a fair deal my ybr for his cb1. Since i can,t afford to buy a new bike at the moment a swap is the only option and it,s not often you see that so what do you guys think.

After 9 1/2 years I think it's time to change my battery - anyone got a good recommendation?
I was looking at AGM for £48, have heard Yuasa is meant to be good and although mine has managed
to last this long, I usually have to jump start a few times in winter, which is not fun.

hi
you probably think i'm mad, but i'm seriously considering trading my gen 1 fazer 1000 for a honda nc700s.... I'm gonna get a test ride soon, but wonder if anyone else has tried one..... As i'm getting older i find i rarely take the fazer over 5k revs, and quite fancy the idea of a bike where all the torque is delivered between 3-5 k revs.... nc on the honda stands for new concept and its supposed to be great fun and fast, shortshifting through the box at 5k revs, coupled to tha fact that all the weight is low, it supposed to change direction really quick as well.
i have an rd400, and a rd350lc, and find i enjoy riding these more than the fazer latley, for me its not about outright speed anymore.... i must be getting old.
oppinions please

| Speed camera detection in France |

Admin, can't see the Touring section any more so if this is in the wrong place please feel free to move it, I won't be offended.
Anyone thinking of useing a sat-nav with French speed camera locations on it might be interested in this from the AA web site.
Effective from 3 January 2012 French laws prohibiting drivers from carrying devices capable of detecting speed cameras have been extended to include devices able to warn or inform of the location of speed cameras.
I have a cheap sat-nav I sometimes use on the bike in the U.K. but as it doesn't have any other European maps on it I have never bothered when crossing the channel. I was thinking of getting one with European maps on for next year, but now wondering if one bought in the U.K. will be legal in France.
I'm guessing existing sat-navs have camera locations in France and maybe a new one will be made to be legal in France.
On the other hand I could be wrong, or missing something, and look forward to being corrected and informed by the experts.

| heated grips keep turning themselves off |

i already had some oxford heated grips on the bike when i bought it and they seem to be very well fitted , also wired up to a non permanent live so it dont drain battery when ignition off .
however what i,ve found is that they are fine all the time when throttle is open and im cruising but if the revs go down as in traffic they turn off !
they will flash (the 25% light )when i go to put them back on but the only way if im in traffic/town and want them back on is to turn off my luights -then they will stay on - but i prefer to keep headlights on whilst riding
battery is fine -it holds the charge great and once a month i go to trickle charge it and it only takes the charge for ten seconds and it is full, so i can assume the alternator is working fine to keep battery good :wall any one any idea ?

Only just come round to fessing up what I did on the weekend!
Decided to lube the swing arm bearings on my gen 1 fazer thou, so took all the necessary parts off to allow access to drop the swing arm out and re-grease, as anyone who has done this will know it is not a 5 minute job.
So having got the swing arm out and given it a good clean & re-grease, popped the swing arm back in and started to reassemble all the components littering the garage, carefully torqueing everything up as I went on. Just about to slide the wheel back in when I turned around and spotted the swing arm spindle sat on the bench gleaming at me. :eek
Do you know any swear words – I do! :'(
You know that moment when you look at something and see it in detail while everything around has become a haze – it was one of those! It surprising how much quicker everything goes back together the second time around. Does any one else have any ‘moments’ that they are willing to fess up to?
p.s. the garage was bloody cold last Saturday as well.
