  Brasso

Just found a full tin of brasso

Anyone used it on bike bits before?

Says excellent results on brass, copper, stainless steel and chrome so was thinking about doing the foot peg brackets/hangers as they look a bit tatty but im not sure about the laquer as it is patchy/part worn off,

Suppose the best way to find out is give it a try but if anyones had that idea before and failed i'd appreciate the advice.

Hello ,having a problem with my front brake binding , checked pistons moving freely and for warped discs which all apeared satisfactory . Both calipers feel tight against discs when removing as if the pads are set too close , Any ideas would be much appreciated , have had bike for several months and problem getting worse but still rideable !!

  Insurance
Posted by: Kingy - 07-11-12, 08:21 PM - Forum: General - Replies (11)

So, an uninsured retard drives into the back of my company van and writing it off, all £6k of it, my daughter gets hit with a £288 bill because i'm a named driver on her car insurance policy. He gets £400 fine and three points for failing to nominate a driver although he was driving the van  that ran into me, I guess he knew it would be a lesser fine etc. These bastards know how to work the system and i'm penalised for beeing driven into. did get 2.4K compo for whiplash though from the motor insurance bureau so not all bad.

Posted by: keithfzs1000 - 07-11-12, 04:37 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (16)

Hi I have done the R1 front fork upgrade and was wondering what the distance was between the left and right riser mounting  holes on the yoke (centre to centre) as getting some billet risers and clamp made, and dont really want to strip it down yet to measure it lol
reason i mentioned the R1 upgrade was cant remember if it was an R1 top yoke or faser lol  :'( :'(

cheers muchly

New to Forum - Hi chaps and chapesses !

Hi people,

Bought a gen 1 FZS1000 last year, 2002 reg, 6,500 miles on clock, nearly showroom condition. Couple of grand, snapped his hands off  Big Grin  Not had a bike for a few years (prev Sprint ST955, VFR750 etc) so I'm still getting gently back into it. My Rosie's an absolute peach, rode her 1650 miles to southern alps and back in september, just me, the bike and a tent, and had an absolute ball.

She's totally standard, so a couple of mods will be on the horizon (a slightly rortier pipe being the priority!)

Nice to join the club  Smile

Pete

If you have this RST jacket. Give it a once over to check
Posted by: baggy - 07-11-12, 12:24 PM - Forum: General - Replies (9)

If you have the below RST jacket then I would check the stitching. I bought this jacket with matching bottoms a month ago and I noticed on Monday that the there was a large hole under the reflective piping where the right arm is stitched to the body of the jacket.

I had to get the bus to work yesterday and my wife took the jacket back to the shop. The shop were really good and exchanged it for another. I got home last night gave the jacket a look over before trying it on and it had a hole in the same place!! The hole was much smaller and you had to move the piping to one side to see it but it must be a fault in the jackets.

I am on the bus again today and my wife has just been to the shop who changed it again for another style RST jacket, they are going to check the rest of their stock and contact the distributors Moto Direct.
