  Fuel tap
Posted by: alexanderfitu - 17-12-12, 08:03 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

Hi all

Odd question, but is there a fuel tap on the FZS600? My 01 fazer says in the manual that there is 3.5 liters of fuel left in the tank when its indicating emtpy (odd!) Is there a way to switch to reserve or is there none?

Being one of this sites more mechanically inept users I am confused by the 2 or 3 front brake line issue and would appreciate some explanation also to change the rear brake or not ? as it seems not everyone does.

  lowering kit
Posted by: Stedman8 - 17-12-12, 06:24 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (18)

I'm only 5'9" and to be honest trying to push the Fazer while sitting on it  I have to go on tiptoe, which may be good for my lower stomach muscles but is a bit of a pain,so I'm thinking of getting one of them there lowering kits. has anyone of my height or approx done this and which would be the best distance to lower by 25 or 50cm,also the sidestand doesn't make the bike lean to much as is, can it be replaced by a one which gives a bit more confidence especially if the 50cm lowering kit is used finally should I make the rear spring slightly harder so that bottoming out doesn't occur - thats if it would? the physics of lowering the bike escapes me tbh, thanks in advance ,cheers Steve Smile

  motorcycle rules and vintage bikes
Posted by: ponkster - 17-12-12, 07:06 AM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

does anyone know what laws and regs apply to a 1959 motorcycle - particularly in relation to the exhaust requirements ?
I can find the info on modern bikes but was wondering what applied to the older MOT exempt bikes - I am currently riding one with no silencer and would like to know my facts if stopped by a copper younger than the bike  (which is most of them!)

  V-Strom handgaurds for 02-03 Mk2FZS600
Posted by: SteveMc278 - 16-12-12, 10:59 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - No Replies

Hi,
Been looking at posts on the old Yaku forums on Handgaurds/Brushgaurds and reckon that V-Strom gaurds will be the simplest to fit and easiest to source from retailers.
So, has anyone fitted these to a Mk2 FZS and if yes then do they foul the fairing on full lock?
Thanks

  02-03 Mk2FZS600 headlight bulb
Posted by: SteveMc278 - 16-12-12, 10:50 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

Hi,
Been advised to stick with a standard bulb, however, has anyone used a Philips X-treme Vision(+100%) for any period of time without suffering any discolouring or melting of the headlight lense unit (within the fairing housing) and without suffering any melting of electrical wiring/connectors or any other adverse affects?
Thanks

Ivanised Gen 1 owner in Lancs?
Posted by: stevierst - 16-12-12, 10:06 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (17)

Is there anyone with an Ivanised  Gen 1 in the Lancashire area? I'm doing a little comparison against my Gen II 2010 to see what bike would suit me better. Wink
