Have just booked in on this course :-)

There are quite a few tense moments for a new rider.  Rain, cross wind, cornering.  So much to learn.  I'm hoping this is going to be the first of many bike courses to help improve the standard of my riding :-)

  I finally cracked...!
Posted by: Dave48 - 31-01-13, 09:12 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

Having SORNed the big red job @ end of November I thought Id do 3 months couch potato/lazy cager time. Did all the service jobs after Xmas & yesterday sun was shining so went & handed over 76 notes @ post office for nice new tax disc. Being a "good boy" decided I wouldnt ride til tomorrow (when tax disc becomes valid) but looking out the window this morning I see the "British Drought" conditions have returned. Our local tv weather girl always smiles beautifully as she announces gales, torrential rain, localised flooding etc! Lets see what tomorrow brings as Im definitely needing to blow the spiders out the pipe! :lol

  Any advice please...

Hello everybody Smile

I'm returning to work soon after a long spell on the sick due to a spinal injury,  i'm also returning to bikes after 20 years out of the saddle.  I'm choosing a bike to commute and i've been lurking the Bike Trader pages regularly.  So,  I saw a 600cc Fazer for the first time and it was a love at first sight kind of moment,  I have to have one,  which led me here.

My last bike was a GS750 but I was younger and fitter back then,  is the Fazer easy to handle for a returning old timer?,  surely it won't be as heavy as that old lump I used to own.  I don't have a great deal of cash until I get a few months wages behind me so i've seen a Fazer at about 800 quid,  looks perfect to me.

Is there anything I should beware of or look out for?  (besides lorries Smile )  Any advice or tips are appreciated thanks.  Oh,  and do you still get a green light for neutral these days?  Thanks again.

If  anyone living in or near Bristol and is looking for a major service and can,t afford Fowlers prices  , i would recommend JHS racing at the end of Keysham bypass ( behind supermarket  )  £ 336 compared to £ 505  .

  Rear Brake Disc
Posted by: His Dudeness - 30-01-13, 10:34 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (21)

I have to get a new rear brake disk. I usually go for Yamaha parts but the OEM disk is £152 plus postage. Bit of a rip off so I'm looking at either an ebc pro-lite for £68.24 plus postage
http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorcycle...rear-rotor

or a brembo one for £78 plus postage
http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorcycle...-disc-rear

Has anyone used either of those discs? Any opinions on them?

  Electric Shower Advice Anyone?
Posted by: Streetbudgie - 30-01-13, 07:43 PM - Forum: General - Replies (12)

I bought a new electric shower from B&Q and installed it only to find that it was pants with hardly any flow.

Water pressure to the house is fine with a brand new poly main but we have a combi boiler with no tank which means no power shower option and this is for a downstairs wet room with no bath, so no mixer shower option either as I can't afford to redecorate.

I understand that the higher the KW the better the flow from the shower, but when I look at electric showers they nearly all say not suitable for comb-boiler/mains set up.

I've seen a few from Triton which have 1.5 bar flow at 10.5Kw and I thought these would be ok for use on mains with a combi boiler (cold fill only) but looking on Plumbworld.co.uk it seems like every electric shower is marked as unsuitable for combi boiler mains water feed.

Completely confused with this now, could do with someone who has the knowledge...help!
