  Gearbox "Shunt"
Posted by: alexanderfitu - 03-02-13, 10:09 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (39)

Hi all

I had a long ride out on the fazer today and noticed that there is a fair bit of gearbox/drivetrain shunt on my fazer, eg, throttle off, clunk, throttle on, clunk. Is this normal on the fazers or just on mine?

  Speedo sender repair.
Posted by: stevierst - 03-02-13, 08:01 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (11)

The Speedo on my mk1 gave up the ghost on my last rideout, apparently a fairly common thing where the front wheel sender lugs wear out and no longer lock into the wheel recesses.

With me being a notorious tight arse, I thought I'd have a go at re-manufacturing it to see if I could get it working again.

I stripped down the front end and took out the sender to find this, a step worn into the sender lugs rendering them useless.

Hello everyone,
My fazer has not got a toolkit under the seat, can anyone tell me what the kit contains and wether its worth buying an official one , if so where to get it from, or just carrying the usual tools?

Anyone got a pic of the right hand side of the centre stand on an FZ1 so I can get an idea of what I need to fabricate or has anyone got one laying around, I am looking to fit a centre stand back on the bike but don't have this bracket.

Sorry I didn't introduce myself properly earlier, just barged in with question about my bike :o .I'm Stoner from Co.Down in N.Ireland. I swapped my Thunderace for Fazer in 1998 it only had 800 miles on clock (somebody never gave it a chance to be loved) It is completely standard but now I want to get it sorted and back where it belongs,on the road!

Hi Foccers,

Just joined this forum despite having an FZ1S for 8 months....

I'm on a few forums, so you may recognise my user name.

I usually go to the Alps in the summer, and other places at Easter, here are some pics of my FZ1 in the Bavarian Pre-Alps/Voralberg, Austria last summer.

Am organising a group ride this year (6 others already signed up) to Bolzano, via Black Forest in August.  If you are interested let me know.

  MAXTON Suspension Question
Posted by: jools - 03-02-13, 02:07 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (2)

Hi all,
I have noticed in your threads about suspension that your  springs are red or yellow or silver as mine is purple!
after some snooping this morning i found that my dog mounts have maxton stamped on them!
I also found that the suspension strut has a maxton sticker on it.
photos below.

So this is a question for all you suspension specials
does this mean that my suspension has been re-valved updated by Maxton!
I have try'd to contact the previous owner by SAE letter, that was in november last year and he still has not replied
he has spent a large fortune on extras on my bike as i asked him in the letter i just need
to know what extras he has put on it.

Hi,can any one share their knowledge.Trying to get mark 1 6oo fazer back on the road after 6 years, removed carbs cleaned all the gunk out, starting but as if not on all cylinders,so new plugs and caps running bit better but only on 1/8 choke and still not running smooth.
