Just passed my MOT with no advisories - which is good - but they did pick up that the frame number is different from the one on record at DVLA - seems that the number has been misread at every previous MOT - the one zero does look like a six - but is is a zero - definitely has not had a new frame so 0 out of ten for observation for the last ten mots!
Daft thing is that the mechanic who picked it up also did the last 4 MOTs!

| problem with idle speed |

Hi all
I am having problems getting my 05 fz6-s to maintain idle speed, After 100mile or so of constant riding the bikes idle speed will drop below 1000rpm and twice has falling well below 1000rpm and stalled
If i adjust the idle speed back upto 1300ish the bike runs fine for another 100 mile or so then the same thing happens again
Has anyone any idea as to what could be causing this???????

Bit of advise please guys.
I was cleaning my chain and sprockets tonight, i took off the cover to front sprocket and cleaned up loads of crud, i then inspected the front sprocket the teeth are very slightly shark fin shaped, :\ chain is in good condition as is the back sprocket. the bike has done 16000 miles. I am off to Normandy on it at the end of the month so was hoping to have another 1000 miles on this chain and sprockets and change them after the trip. What do you think guys ?

I have a Yamaha FZ1 Akrapovic Carbon Exhaust for sale
Bought a FZ1 recently with the Akrapovic Carbon Exhaust , but prefer the stock exhaust which also came with the bike.I was told by the person I bought the bike of that the can is about a year old and he had not used the bike much and was selling it due to ill health. The can is in excellent condition and I will be removing it from the bike in the next few days. The bike is a 2007 reg so the can will fit most FZ1 - but please check
The id's on the can are: (e1) 0628and MS-H19 if this is of any use.
It is presently for sale on eBay Item number: 200912497660with a starting ( low ) price of £249 but am open to reasonable offers from members of this forum.
please pm me if interested

So er...exactly how important are the rear brake caliper shims (they clip onto the back of the pads), i've been cleaning my rear brake, thought i'd misplaced them then realised the bike never came with any, they're £6.23+vat each so not too bad, but are they actually needed?
