I am thinking of buying an airbag vest, the ones I have looked at are made by hit air or helite.
Anybody bought or wears one ?  if so which type ? has it saved you in a crash ?

Hi all!


So I was riding home from my mates today and my speedo just started jumping around and being very erratic.


The rev counter works fine, no problems there.


I have changed the speedo censor back in October as the speedo wasn't working. Since then all I have done is check the breaks by taking the front caliper off, I checked the breaks put it back on and the speedo was working fine. This was last week when I checked the breaks.


Any suggestions?

Replacing my rear cliper seals as part of my ongoing winter (and now spring) mods/upgrades/cleaning/money spending...  :\

I want to replace them with genuine yamaha ones to avoid any ill fitting etc. It's not something I want to try and "save money on" if you get what I mean.

My question is where to get them. I don't need new pistons as they've cleaned up fine.

I've had a look on ebay but it's so hard to try and figure out which are genuine yamaha parts and which aren't.

Hi All

Looking for a mechanically challenged fazer as I have a complete and good running 03 model but is missing parts ie forks, exhaust headlight, headlight mount, clocks etc etc so thinking maybe buying another bike and using bits of both to build one might work better than buying all the parts mine needs.

Alternatively if any one has a good set of forks and stainless downpipes to sell Id be interested.

i have just  bought  a  fazer 1000 and  im looking for the  radiator side fairings  can anyone  help me  as i can seem to find any  anywere  thanks  michael

I was going to give the Yamaha dealer a call tomorrow to ask if the thundercat downpipes are a potential replacement.
Forgot to ask earlyier when I was speaking to one of the guys waiting for the mot results.. In my eagerness to get the bike mot'd, I failed to notice both brakes were binding slightly (why the bike seemed super heavy), one footrest needed tightened up and the blowing collector pipe on the exhaust.  So really should have checked this before, put new battery, oil and filters in a week ago but I'm 30 quid lighter and abit red in the face.

Had a look on the forum but couldn't see anything.

Apparently since Xmas (some may already know) Yamaha have now placed their parts catalogues online. So no more trying to describe a part over the phone to your local dealer. I found this site useful recently when I was after a rear wheel spacer on me Gen 1.
