As the title says! Dropped my tank while balancing the carbs (Doh!), massive dent and paint has come off.
So on the off-chance that anybody has a blue (deep purplish blue metalic?) fzs600 2002/03 tank in reasonable nick?
Cheers,
Andy

The Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, Frank Jonas, is a keen biker and on the 21st of April he will be leading an escorted Mass Ride from the King George V playing fields (IBM North Harbour) to Portsmouth Guildhall Square, where there should be Classic and Custom Bike competitions, stalls, displays, food and the Solent Advanced Motorcyclists' Mobile Display Unit.
The Ride will start at 10am and events in the Guildhall Square will wrap up around 4pm.
For a flyer showing more details of the event, click here
Here is a map of the car park location.

Hi there, just a quickie, I believe a fzs1000 is good for high mileage? But how good are they? Are they high maintenance with high mileage? Is it worth getting one or should I hold out for a low mileage one?
Cheers Dave

I love the fazer, its awesome for everything I need ever but for some reason I have an insatiable urge to have a large capacity single cylinder bike. I was just wondering if any of you have one or have had experience of them. I love off road bikes, the look, sound, feel and ability to actually green lane etc which is great fun. They're comfortable for me too because I'm tall. The usability and low down torque seems like it would be so much more fun for my everyday riding style as I only commute 15 miles a day all on 30 - 40 mph nice twisty roads and town riding. If any of you have ridden any of the following, I was wondering if they are good for commuting, a good laugh, can handle sitting at 70mph if needs be and can take pillions in reasonable comfort.
Suzuki DR - 650
Kawasaki KLX - 650
Honda XR - 650
Yamaha XT - 660
MZ Baghira
The only thing holding me back is I love the fazer and am worried I would regret selling it, but at the same time I think I would love any of the above bikes and they would be such a laugh which I think is the most important aspect of biking. The fazer is such a swiss army knife as well although I guess the above bikes are too other than touring which would be possible just not as comfortable. Reaaallly stuck with what to do :\

Just wanted to thank ghost biker again for the stainless exup bolts he recently sent out, finally got round to fitting them, had to take the exhaust off and heat one and drill another to get the old bolts out.
Have ordered some stainless nuts for the header pipes so next time it will hopefully go a lot smoother.

so here is where it started. i decided change the oil and filter on my bike since i had easier access cos my exhaust off being welded. after changing the filter an oil i cleaned the bike with wd40 then Fenwicks. i then washed it with warm water and car shampoo, let it dry then gave it a coat of wd40. after putting the exhaust back on i took it for a 50 mile spin and i noticed at around 20-20mph when i put it under power it was juddering a bit like there was water in the spark plugs, could this problem also be caused by water getting in where the exhaust conects to the engine since i had them off while cleaning but i was being carefull enough to avoid getting any water there.
anyway decided to take the spark plugs off for a look to see if any of them were wet and to give them a clean. number 1,2 and 4 came off easy but with number 3 i turned it quarter of a turn and it snapped off leaving the thread bit in only and the white bit it still in the middle of it. ive taken then tank off, tried to drain the water coolant through the drain bolt but nothing came out which was another problem, but i drained enough out near the top of the radiator. next i moved the part where you put the coolant in and disconnected the 2 pipes that was stuck to it so i could move it out of the way. now ive got better access to try and do something with the broken plug. ive had a quick look on google and found that other people got it out with "easy out" screw/bolt extractor. do you guys recommend using these? also if i was to use them do i need to drill or break the white bit inside first with a thin screwdriver?
