  Hi to all
Posted by: xjrnino - 18-04-13, 04:33 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (3)

Hi there, newbie here from Cardiff, I am currently running an XJR 400. Not quite a Fazer but a close cousin. Found this site when looking for parts and thought there might be a cross over with some parts, well hopefully. Any South Wales members on here? Will add some photos as soon as I work it out.

Cheers

Cant get pressure in the brakes :(
Posted by: alexanderfitu - 18-04-13, 03:06 PM - Forum: General - Replies (16)

Hi all

I have recently changed out all the lines in my 1991 XJ600. I have replaced them all with goodridge lines.

I have also overhauled the master cylinder. (new mc kit)

The problem I have, is that I cant get the brakes to pump up, I have clear fluid showing at the bleed nipples on the front fork, but no pressure in the lever.

Any thoughts?

Heated grips power connection - help!
Posted by: jadejordan - 18-04-13, 02:05 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

Hi - I am going to fit some Oxford Original Headed grips to my FZ1 (2007) and want to connect them to an ignition circuit so they switch off when the ignition is turned of. ( had them on battery on last bike and kept forgetting to switch of and often had flat battery)

Does any one know the best place / circuit to connect them to as it says in the manual do not connect to light or horn circuits as it needs up to 4a.

I am useless with electrics so an idiots guide or pictures would be appreciated.

Thanks

  cat d,c
Posted by: sadlonelygit - 18-04-13, 10:26 AM - Forum: General - Replies (19)

why is there so much predjudice about buying a cat d/c bike.
some poor bloke is trying to sell a very nice fazer and he's getting 'that's far too much for a write off'
well the fact is lads (and laddies) a cat d isn't a write off, it's just been recorded on the insurance database as having a claim on it. how many of you have had a bump in a car and got it sorted yourself, or dropped your bike and put a new mirror/indicator on yourself. do you declare that to a potential purchaser?
Cat C on the other hand is 'beyond economical repair', but if you wreck the fairing (£200 + fasteners) tank (£820 + decals) rear surround (£400).........that's a write off.
project shoestring was purchased with a dented tank and dark grey fairing and a very shiney standard can.
a bike is worth what you're willing to pay for it, and someone, somewhere will be seduced by it's charms.

and it's far too white for my liking Wink

  Parts available for Fazer 600
Posted by: packie - 18-04-13, 10:18 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (34)

With sad regret, I am parting company with my Fazer 600 '03 Foxeye model. This bike was becoming a black hole for puring money into and the final straw came on the weekend were serious engine problems developed and I have decided not to put anymore money into it and move it on.

The upshot is that a breaker bought it off me and will be collecting the bike off me Monday or Tuesday next week. So there will be parts available from him but in the meantime you could contact him and book stuff in advance. He sells his stuff very reasonable and he has good postage costs to the UK. I have dealt with him on numerous occasions over the years and he is a sound chap who don't believe in screwing a person over, and who is a biker himself.

The breaker is Glen Stynes, Fahy Hill, Rhode, Co. Offally, Ireland. Tel +353 87 0955557 email: stynesgp08@eircom.net

Parts that I would see that may be of interest to some guys here would be:

  • Fazer 1000 rear caliper with pads that have only 2k up on them. The caliper has been filed down on the head already to fit straight on the Fazer 600
  • Rear and front EBC discs with only 2k up on them.
  • Clocks and bodywork all in good nick.
  • Camchain tensioner with only 2k up on it.
  • Chain and sprockets with only 2k up on them.
  • Stainless downpipes in excellent nick, painted in black but can be nitromors off.
  • Giv monorack

Cheers guys!!
