Spoke to guy guy last night who has a thou... Im getting bike ivans in june by mike but have a few concerns over what this bloke said last night so gonna ask a few questions he said.
1) caused his bike to be over fueled at lower speeds
2)Said you have to work bike more as gets gunked up if you dont use top end/ middle more
3)Smells over fuely in town when being followed by friends.
4)Said gives u abou 25% more mid range and 50% more top end but doesnt really help low end.
Im not sure if he is talking poo or not if he is on here sorry if i have caused offence if he does, i have only heard good things about ivans have any of you experienced anythig like this or is this just his nike setup incorectly? He was running yoshi can 4-2-1 and k&n
Any ideas guys/girls.

Blue Flame link pipe?

Hi! Anyone got a Blue Flame can on their bike? The reason I ask is because it seems the link pipe is A) too long, and B) I've had to push the right hanger out a mile to get the can to stop clipping the swingarm. I was wondering whether it was the wrong link pipe? Dead_Eye and I had a bit of a battle fitting the bugger earlier today...
Photos of the setup tomorrow. Any ideas in the meantime? Thanks!

Hi,
Just picked up my 1999 Fazer 600 today, got a couple of questions.
My clocks are in KM, can I just plug in a set in Miles and it will work correctly?
The rear brake has a lot of movement before engaging the brake. Is this common, or can this be simply adjusted?
After riding home in the dark my first job is the headlight mod and some brighter bulbs!!
Cheers
Mike

Hello All
Just joined the forum because I've got quite a bit of work to do on my '02 FZS600 and could do with some advice
I'm in Nottingham, been riding the bike for 18 months.
I don't have a car and commute 40 miles a day (mostly on the M1).
All year except a week or two when there's ice on the road.
The bike's in good condition(12k miles) but suffering from the salt.
I've been pretty slack with maintenance so far but here's what I've got coming up:
Rebuilding the rear brake caliper (pistons and seals)
New stainless exhaust
K&N air filter
Balance carbs
Front sprocket nut
Change coolant, oil & filter
Fork dust seals
General de-rusting & painting
Cheers

Sadly it's time to say goodbye to my mini. I have only had it for 1 year but I've done quite a lot to make it a near perfect car!
I feel a bit guilty putting this on here since I've not really posted since the move from YUKU...
£4250 ONO located in Swindon
1994 L plated 1.3 Sprite with only 34,719 miles and just 2 previous owners. Car is absolutely rust free having been resprayed less than a year ago. I’ve fitted with a few modern essentials to make it better as a daily driver, central locking and an alarm, while keep the interior stylish, classic cobra racing seats for example!
It’s time for something more practical and I feel very guilty about saying goodbye after such a short period of time!

I have receipts for pretty much everything: - Full professional respray, rust removal and wood & picket arches moulded on 9 months ago £1700

- Full service by Sommerford Mini March 2013 £250
- Ultralite wheels 12x 5.5 including A539 tyres which still look new - bought new from mini sport for £450
- Full stage 1 exhaust system from Mini spares (RC40 Twin box exhaust, K&N, new needle etc) £190
- Hi-Lo adjustable suspension – supplied & fitted by Sommerford mini £250
- Cobra classic racing seats (front and rear) as well as tilting frame sliders worth £500+
- Matching black with white stripe door cards (front and rear)
- New headlining, under seat speakerboard and front speaker pods from OptimiseAutomotive £100
- Toad Ai606 alarm (with tilt sensor) fitted and connected to central locking (AutoEurope-UK) - £200
- New Sony 5inch front speakers & 6x9 rear
- New Sony headunit, Bluetooth usb etc £120
- Upgraded halogen headlamp bowls and lamps - minispares
- New WiPac Spotlights from minispares – wired to the full beam switch
- New chrome numberplate light holder
- New front grille from Wood & Picket
- Red rocker cover and chrome bits (makes the engine look pretty) - Minispares
- Aston chrome fuel cap cover – Minispares
- Weather shield & New fuse box –Minispares
- High level brake light that says "Mini", not so proud of this one but it means that a 4x4 will be able to see that you are slowing down!
- Chrome windscreen wipers
Will also come with original wheels x5, the original exhaust system, Haynes manual and all the engine oil I have left! I am happy to throw in the disklock steering wheel lock too that cost me £90.

Afternoon all, anyone got any tales of wisdom (or something for sale) re mounting of the stock clocks? I'm removing the front fairing to fit twin lights and screen and just remembered the clocks have to live somewhere! lol
Any help appreciated.

Emulsion in oil

Been noticing notchy gear changes recently, so thought I'd quickly check the oil level.... which seems to be down (no oil leaks apparent). However, through the viewing window I can see emulsion streaks, and the bottom of the filler cap and inside the side panel is thoroughly coated with white emulsion.
Head gasket is presumably a first potential culprit here, but the bike is otherwise running beautifully.
I'll drain the old oil (changed a year ago) and refill, but is there anything else I should check?
(The bike has been used pretty much every day over the last year (8 miles each way)).

Chains and sprockets for Gen 1

While fitting a Devilsyam sprocket cover I have noticed my front sprocket is well on its way out, (teeth bending but not thinning) although chain and back spocket seem ok, also the sprocket was loose the locking tab having broken and the nut loose luckily catching on the 2nd flat on the broken tab. I have toured the local bike shops with a view to just replacing the front and am told this is common for the tab to break! Having checked for chains and sprockets I am wondering which way to go for a tourer stlyle rider. The front spocket is 16T & 4XV with plastic coated sides so I don't know what make this is. Any views out there please.
