Took the Fazer out for the first time since last October. 150 miles of smiles and it was good to be alive!!

At the bike park in Rye a woman pillion loudly proclaimed "where were all these bikes all winter".
I bit my tongue.

Anyone going to this years TT??

Symptom - like the battery is flat - won't turn over/turns over very slow
Counter-symptom - lights are bright and don't dim when trying to start, battery on charge overnight
Other points - can hear starter solenoid clunking/engaging.

I can't decide if this a a duff battery (quite possible as it's old and been unreliable for some time), or an electrical issue (solenoid, corroded connections, starter brushes).

Any suggestions?

I haven't got a spare battery so can't test with jump leads etc.

I've been watching the forum (and occasionally posting) for a while in anticipation of picking up my '03 Fazer 600 this weekend just gone. T'is a lovely bike and taking some getting used to after having a 2000 CBR600F. Not better or worse, just different 


Hoping to get out a little more this summer as compared to last (blasted rain). I'm based in Peterborough if anyone locally wants to meet up for a ride out.
Anyway, as  :useless , here goes.

I used the ol soldering iron trick to rejoin or melt some of my plastic fairing back together.

anyone have advice on how to hide or restore a consistent finish across the entire visible panel ?

Well it looks like it is time for a new clutch for my fazer,she does have 71k miles on her but the clutch is dragging badly and the biting point is at the very end of the lever travel,yes the free play is ok.so the question is which clutch plates is the best without spending a lot of money?

I have bought a Fazer 600 s but it has a shaved seat for the shorter ridier fitted. I am six foot tall & need a standard seat. Does anybody want to swap !

Has anyone fitted a 180 to the rear while having a hugger in place. My 160 is about done & i seem to remember fitting a 180 to my last 2001 600s but cant remeber if i had a hugger ?

What would the general thoughts be on some flyers, A6 (Think A4 / 4) in size, club name website logo whatever?

Just thought it might be a good idea to have some under the seat if I spot a non foccer
