  Rear Shock Upgrade
Posted by: Gaz1978 - 08-06-20, 09:19 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (14)

Hi All, I am a new member and hoped I can get advice on a rear shock absorber upgrade please? I have seen lots of posts about R6 and BMW S1000r shock mods but is there any other options that I can buy that bolt straight in but wont break the bank? I have a 2003 Fazer 1000.

Many thanks, Gaz

Read an article today that Yamaha are considering production of another incarnation of the MT09. Gets my vote for sure.

  FZS1000 / 600 (Foxeye) UK headlight
Posted by: Trebus - 08-06-20, 01:19 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (8)

I've got a French import FZS1000 with EU lights. This has 5868 stamped on the reflectors.

Looking to do a reflector swap to convert to UK specification. Managed to find another headlight from a breaker from a 'UK' bike, however it's turned up and is also a European specification with 5868 reflectors!!  :wall

A couple of people contacted me before about swapping but I was reluctant to part with my headlight via post. But now I have a spare it would be much easier.

My spare headlamp does have one lug snapped off so happy to just do the reflectors. I believe I need P1191 for UK if anyone can confirm?

Posted by: Thomo2020 - 07-06-20, 07:05 PM - Forum: Introduction - No Replies

Good day all,
Thanks for the welcome, this is my first ever Fazer and actually first ever Yamaha out of 26 bikes. I am loving the bike and have some plans for it. It’s a fzs1000 2002 in red and is a low mileage example. I am on getting seat done now and suspension front and rear getting K tech SSK and springs done end of month. My name is Peter anyway I’ll be on the hunt for Ivan’s kit and a nice exhaust can. I also want Givi top box mount and a new screen any of these items for sale please let me know. Hope your all keeping safe in these mental times and getting out when you can.

Speak soon guys

  Number 4 spark plug oily
Posted by: cl1ve2004 - 07-06-20, 05:25 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (18)

Rebuilt carbs, new o rings, mixture screws etc..bench set butterflies and mixture screws.

Put the carbs back on, starts ok with no choke, did carb balance, all good...sounds a lot better, and goes better now, but stuttery at low end.

Took plugs out and 1,2,3 nice colour, but 4 has oil (not petrol) on electrode..

Checked the coils, coil leads and caps, swapped with some spares still the same result, oil on number 4 plug.

Any ideas, carbs again, or am I looking at valve seals ??

Cheers
