iPod touch, gen 4 broken screen, repair / replacement advice please
Posted by: Agent Picolax - 04-05-13, 06:48 PM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

Our eldest daughter came home earlier absolutely distraught because she'd dropped her iPod touch and broken the screen. It's a Gen 4, 32Gb and, after a quick Google, it looks like the glass screen and LCD are bonded together, and need to be replaced as one. A few people have said that it is possible to separate the two parts, but the success rate of re-aligning everything when the replacement parts are bonded back together is not too high.
Does anyone have any experience of any such repairs or know of any repair centres that they would be happy to recommend?
Thanks in advance for any useful tips  Smile

  Exhaust studs
Posted by: elbrownos - 04-05-13, 04:55 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (14)

I'm going to be putting stainless downpipes on soon due to a holey collector. The Fazer's getting louder every day.
While I'm at it, I figure I'll change the exhaust studs to stainless too, so as to avoid any future troubles with snapping studs etc..
Not too keen on paying $$$ for studs so I'll get a length of M6 threaded stainless bar from Toolstation for £2 and cut it to length.
Any reason not to do this?
What length should the studs be?

Cheers

  any solicitor types on here?
Posted by: sadlonelygit - 04-05-13, 01:52 PM - Forum: General - Replies (6)

i have a question about the cost of preparing an estate to submit for probate.
basic facts are a firm dealt with the m-i-l estate, sorted out all the jointly owned property etc and charged £6G.
now they are telling us they want £7-10+vat to sort out the f-i-l estate. now by my reckoning they already know about all the properties, so it's just the pensions/cash/savings/vehicles to sort out.
they refuse to pay for 'professional' services ie the surveyor for current property valuation and are holding £3G from the m-i-l estate and are refusing to release the funds to the executors.
is this normal practice or are we being royally shafted by sharks taking advantage at a vulnerable time?
