Hampshire Foccers - Ride out to Ryka's Cafe, Box Hill - Sunday 5th - UPDATE
Posted by: Grahamm - 03-05-13, 08:25 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

Following my recent post and a check of the A272, it seems that a big chunk of the road east of Petersfield has been tar-and-chipped :-(

However this has actually had a serendipitous benefit, because I've found a lovely alternative route :-)

So the plan is this: Leaving from Wickham Square at 11am, heading up the A32 and turning right at Loomies to take the A272 to Petersfield, then taking the B2070 and cutting across to the A286 via Rake Road. From there we take the A286 to Milford, Station Lane to meet the B2127 and B2126, then the A29 north before taking the A24 to get to Ryka's.

After a bite to eat we head up Zig-Zag Road, down to the A25 and then reverse the route above to finish at Loomies about 5pm.

I hope at least some of you will join me for what should be a great ride on a good day Smile

  OLD RECORD SMASHED !
Posted by: dazza - 03-05-13, 07:02 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (10)

Hello Foccer's, After a reasonably sedate commute to Acton the other day. I had managed to get just under 150 miles with quarter of a tank left. This got me thinking that I could get another 50 before my fuel light comes on and I know the bike is capable of 70 miles on reserve. Could this be a record coming up ?  Anyway, I kind of got a little bit distracted by the throttle and only achieved  185 miles before the unnecessary worrying fuel light came on. Still, I took it pretty easy from then on and managed a staggering 259.5 miles before it started to splutter.  I put in a measured 1/2 litre and rode 2 1/2 miles to the garage where it took 22 litres (much to the annoyance of everyone behind me :lol ). This was all done sporting a 45litre top box.  It's going to be interesting to see if this is still capable of this after it's been Ivanised.

  Car Stereo
Posted by: Skippernick - 03-05-13, 04:48 PM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

I have an 12 year old astra and am thinking of putting a new stereo in it with cd player so that my 3 year old can listen to music etc, the old one is a tape deck.
Its the original stereo of the type that has a seperate screen further up in the dash, with time, temp and radio station.
My question is if i change the stereo to one with its own screen on the face what happens to the cars in built display, will it work at all, or just time date show etc?
Any ideas would be great.
Thanks
Nick

PS before you tell me get a new car, we can't afford one. Smile

  Luggage rack help please
Posted by: Looney tune - 03-05-13, 04:07 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

I recently bought Givi  V35 tech panniers and a 460 top box to fit on my FZ1. The rack for these panniers as well as being bike specific is also pannier specific, not a problem. The thing that I would like to know is 1, has anybody got these fitted to there bike ? 2, can the rack be fitted to the bike which has a tail tidy fitted ?
Any help is much appreciated thanks

  Chain and sprocket recommendations??
Posted by: xlewisbdx - 03-05-13, 03:04 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

MOT is at the end of the month and with the current chain and sprockets on it, it won't pass.

Heard so of you talk about the D.I.D chains. I was looking at this...

My mate recommended me this. He has 30k miles on it on his hornet and is only just starting to stretch.
