Some kind of huge bike event/meet
Posted by: simonm - 05-05-13, 01:45 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

Just had at least 200 custom bikes ride past on the A4304.

Some really nice custom jobs.  Anyone know where they're off to ?

  Hazard light problem.
Posted by: taksi - 05-05-13, 11:50 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (1)

I have a gen2 FZ1Fazer '08 and have a problem with the hazard lights. Indicators work fine ,but when I put on the hazards the indicators blink once then nothing. Also after this happens the indicators stop working for 20-30 seconds and then behave again. Any ideas? Ta.

Ok , with the hot track temp, how many riders will fall off in the race?      seeing as the crashes of Crutchlow twice, Pedrosa and Marquez also.

Lorenzo seems to be the man but we know Rossi is the man, bike eating shark here.

Posted by: slimwilly - 05-05-13, 07:12 AM - Forum: General - Replies (12)

I have a cut down touring screen on my bike, now with the trip to Italy later this month i thought i might use the piece i cut off the replicate the adjustible diffuser .

You could of course just buy one but i sure at this moment in time do not have the spare cash.

Oh hell , also two days before i go to Mugello we have to move bloody house,  :eek  balls int it?

The owners want to come back from abroad and the next house has come up,my misses aint very happy ,not with me going away for a week in Italy, hahaha

Taking the downpipes off any tips?
Posted by: xlewisbdx - 04-05-13, 11:34 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (10)

Just found out that my pipes have a crack in two places of what I know of. Any one ever taken them off and if so how easy is it?

Been told that the bolts can sometimes weld to engine and snap.

  Hello fellow Fazers :)
Posted by: OutofFaze - 04-05-13, 11:18 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (8)

Hi guys,

I'm just introducing myself as I bought a Fazer last week and love it! I changed from an XT600E which was my first bike. I'm an English guy that has been living in Sweden for the last 5 years. I passed my bike test at the end of September last year (I don't have a driving licence for a car though), and rode the XT through the whole winter.

I got my fair share of crappy weather conditions over the winter- Freezing fog (couldn't see through the visor), hail storms, pea soup fog, icy roads, snowy roads (I fell off the XT on a gravel road in a forest that was snowy. I could have avoided this but in my naivety thought that I could tackle it and busted my knee up a bit). So that opened my eyes a bit, but I'm glad I did because I think a lot more when I ride.

Here is the Fazer after a polish and clean today:

Also, I have a question for you seasoned veterans about the forks... I have the oxidization on my front forks because of chipped lacquer. I want to remove the lacquer and polish them up because I want to make/keep the bike tidy. I have a new tube of Autosol, but what is the best way to remove the lacquer? I'd like to avoid using paint stripper if possible. Wire wool, sand paper? I think this question has probably been asked numerous times before so you'll have to forgive me. I just joined and wanted to introduce myself before I delve into the website for answers.

Here is a picture of the front fork ugliness:

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read my introduction! I look forward to chatting with you and learning a lot!

Thanks!

  I'm back!
Posted by: Punkstig - 04-05-13, 08:25 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (5)

Well, after 3 years, 2 Thundercats, an SRAD 750 and a cb250rs I'm back on a Fazer!

Picked her up today, '03 600, 12000 miles for a delightful £1750!

Rode her back 200 miles and was delighted, now don't get me wrong, I was reminded just how capable the engine was but compared to the T'cat and SRAD handling wise it shows, but I expected this anyway so a little fiddling / swapping out of shocks etc will be had and will hopefully help, although the fact she was on 5 year old Conti road attacks would not have helped in the slightest!

She starts work life dispatching on Wednesday so I'll slap her into shape!

So anyway, hello all, again!
